Ruger LCR-357: First Range Trip
Picked up a Ruger LCR in .357 Magnum a couple weeks back, this is the first time I got the chance to fire it. I didn't shoot it as well as I would like, but I guess thats what another trip and more ammo is for :-P.Overall I enjoyed it and am pleased with my purchase, can't wait to shoot it somemore. I have also not shot alot of snub-nose revolvers so it was an interesting change, This will be an alternate or additional carry gun to my Glock 29 I usually carry. The .357 Magnum gains about 300-500 fps velocity and goes from about 600 ft lbs of energy (in a 4 inch revolver) to about 1000 ft lbs of muzzle energy in a carbine like this. The marlin 1894C is great for plinking targets and hunting small game with .38 specials and Deer with stout .357 magnum loads. And because it shoots a pistol cartridge it does not cost much to shoot and is easy to reload for.
