I think the lyrics say enough: for Anne it was over before it was really begun. She would have been a great Queen for Engeland, I'm sure (better then Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour and Catherine Howard anyway), too bad Henry never had given her a chance. But she was a lucky woman any way: she had the chance to be free and did not die by Henry's hand after all. I always thought it was a shame the series didnt use Henry Percy, but I admire Wyatt's endless love for Anne. Although this song is written for a hooker, which Anne definitly wasn't, I think it fits them very well. In the Tudor dynasty love was for sale, Anne knew and she wanted nothing less but the ultimate price. I bet she suffered a much more then we would ever know. This video was a request from my little sister, so I made it (thats why it is in Dutch, I'm sorry for the ones who don't understand it, maybe I'll translate the lyrics in the future). I've tried to translate the lyrics, but it was a very tough job, so I can only hope it is understandable. Intro On the beach of Ameland, As baby, he was washed ashore, Thrown overboard bound on a rescue buoy on the golves he felt as in the womb en he screamed untill he was found by an comber (? ww: comb on the beach or loot) Ameland spoke disgrace of the comber (?) a strange person who lived from the wind and already found the strangest things how came the comber on that child if he goes out every day to comb on the beach the foundling had to go with him and when he started to talk after a year was his first word: Sea On the beach of Ameland played the child for years the comber was his master who teached him wise lessons he stood straddle-legged on the sand wasn't scared of the enraged sea and screamed so long till the flood turned Ameland spoke disgrace of the child the foundling who screamed as the wind how was it possible that the sea withdrew for a child? What he screamed, none could say that was hard to hear in the distance and when they asked the comber, he said: I think he scream: I will come. I should explain this one, because it is not that I don't like Anne (actually I adore her), but I wanted to make a video from Henry's perspective. I think the series gave Anne to much credit: she has made some big mistakes too and I really believe she was also to blame for the way Henry started to hate her. She fighted a lot, sometimes about nothing, she worked Catherine of her throne (and at those times it wasn't even sure if Anne didn't poisen her) and seduced Henry with a promise she never made true. Now we wouldn't dare to blame a woman because she couldn't give her man a son, but in Anne's case and in Anne's time she played a very dangerous game. It was all or nothing, like Henry was a man of all or nothing. She couldn't gave him all, so I don't find it (seeing Henry as the man he probably was) surprising he got her killed.
