
Group A - Round 3.1: Millenium vs. Team SoloMid Intel Extreme Masters Global Challenge at Gamescom 18/8/2011 League of Legends Match Summary Arguably the match of the evening, Group A Round 3.1 featured Millennium vs. Team SoloMid, both so far undefeated in their groups, and both already advancing to the semi-finals. In this match for the first seed from Group A, both teams chose to field somewhat unorthodox strategies. The bans started with these old rivals targeting their opponents' strengths. Millenium chose to remove both Alistair and Zilean quickly, while Team SoloMid began by adding Lee Sin to the blacklist. Their favored jungler gone, Millennium's lineup rounded out at Annie, Caitlyn, Soraka, Nunu, and, somewhat surprisingly, Jax. TSM on the other hand, drafted Gangplank, Brand, Ashe, Udyr, and Jana. The game started off cautiously, with both teams heading directly to lane without fishing for an early game fight. TSM, however, decided to shake things up by sending their mage to top lane against Millenium's melee bruiser and Udyr to lane against Annie mid. After both junglers exchanged some impotent aggression at top, Gangplank swung south to mid to claim first blood for TSM by catching Annie off guard. As mid game approached, Team SoloMid's clever lane pairings began to pay off. Brand was proving quite successful at zoning out Jax, and Annie was having quite a bit a trouble cracking Udyr's Turtle Stance shield. Additionally, TSM had built a total of three Wriggles <b>...</b>
