Original White Star Line Music songlist used in april 1912 on board White Star Line ships, and so on board OLYMPIC and TITANIC too. Titanic's two bands, quintet and trio, played those popular music pieces for first and second class passengers. Musicians played only from sheets, no by heart, and only the numbers included in the songbook (because they didn't have sheets for any other selection of music). Analysing the songlist, one can notice, that there are many titles associated today with Titanic: Valse Septembre, Wedding Dance, Sphinx, Songe d'Automne, Vision of Salome, In the Shadows, Alexander's Ragtime Band, The Mosquito's Parade and others. But there is absent, for example, Oh You beautiful Doll. Titanic literature says that the song was played on board Titanic, but nobody knows who testified that, and, in this case, it appears to be a press false news, or the song was played in third class. First class passengers testified Alexander's Ragtime Band, Chocolate Soldier, Barcarolle from The Tales of Hoffmann, Puccini, Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Wagner to be played on board. I made this video for informative purpose. The market is full of many music albums titled "Titanic music" or similar, but many of them doesn't have much to do with the repertoire of orchestras from Titanic.
