This is a short video showing the progress of my Springfield Armory XD .45 as I polish the barrel. First I plugged the barrel with ear plugs, then I soak the barrel in vinegar for about 1.5 hours. I scrubbed it with a scouring pad after taking it out of the vinegar. Then I polished it with a compound included in my dremel tool kit. The results were pretty good, but it wasn't as shiny as I would have liked. Next, I placed it back into the vinegar where I left it for almost 3 hours. After I took it out this time it had gotten black colored again. This coloration scrubbed off easily with the 600 grit sandpaper. After all of the black was removed I polished it using the dremel tool again, but with Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish. The combination of the sandpaper and the Mother's polish seemed to work very quickly as opposed to using the scouring pad and the Dremel brand polish. I was pleased with the overall results. However, I was unable to get a shiny surface on the underside of the barrel chamber due to the tight spaces and angles.

One of my initial 10 round shot groups at 15 yards with my Springfield Armory XD 45 ACP. It's not too bad, but as I shoot it more it will tighten up more.

My compact/service model XD9mm. Great gun comes standard with two 16+1 magazines. I have put well over 1000 rounds through my XD with no problems. I upgraded the sights to Tru Glo TFO nights sights, added a hogue grip and I use mecgar 18+1 magazines. I typically use a black hawk holster either on my hip or belt depending on what I'm doing during the day.

One of my favorite handguns. The Springfield XD 45 acp. I have had this gun for almost 5 years now. It is a great gun. Just a little on the heavy side for me to carry. But I still love it. I pruchased this gun new, back in the summer of 2007. This firearm is at it's permanent home. Intro and outro to this video was made using sony vegas pro.

Alright guys here are a couple grips that are made for the XD Series pistols. One is made by Pachmayr and the other by Hogue. The Pachmayr works fine, installs easy, and feels comfortable. The Hogue is harder to install but holds its place much better and is more comfortable in the hand. Thanks for watching please rate and subscribe
