Hey guys, Im Tatiana carrier with clevver movies and Ive got the latest on one of my favorite directors jj abrahms! According to Entertainment weekly, Abrahms is officially on board to direct the sequel to his 2009 hit Star Trek! first film's screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are penning the screenplay with producer Damon Lindelof, and the main cast — including Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are all set to return. The sequel is still untitled, and was originally scheduled to come out June 2012, but the film has moved off of that date to give the writers enough time to polish the script. Abrahms first reboot of Trek pulled in 257 million domestically and 385 million worldwide, so we are all pumped to see him back in the directors chair to make some trek magic! Our pals at TrekMovie gave us an exclusive update on the status for pre-production on the project including locations, the script and casting. We also have news on the exact date for the start of filming! SO without further ado here are the trek facts! . The official start date for production on the Star Trek sequel is January 15th, 2012. And you die hard trek fans know this is over four years and two months after the start of production for the 2009 Star Trek movie which began shooting on November 7th, 2007. . Pre-production for the Star Trek sequel has been underway for a few months. It began using the famous "extensive outline" but sources tell TrekMovie a draft script has been completed and submitted to the studio. . Also, much of the design work for the film has been completed, with the team again headed by Scott Chambliss as production designer. And construction has already started for some of the new sets. Many sets and location set dressing elements from the 2009 film (such as the USS Enterprise) have been in storage and will be re-used for the sequel. . In addition to all that, ILM has already started work on some of the effects shots for the movie. While effects work is often considered part of post-production, there are many space effects shots which can be made without the need of <b>...</b>

Hey guys I'm Andrea Feczko and you're watching Clevver Movies. Trekkie fans can't wait for a sequel to the 2009 summer blockbuster smash Star Trek, and it seems the studio is tired of waiting too! Rumors are swirling around Hollywood that Star Trek 2 is set for June 29, 2012. Great news! Except there is no director, no star and no script! Minor details... So, What is going on? According to Deadline, everyone is too busy working on other projects! JJ Abrams is expected to sign on to Star Trek 2 only after his new film Super 8 comes out. The three writers won't start writing until Abrams has signed on, and by the way they're also working on other projects. And star Chris Pine is scheduled to shoot another film before Star Trek 2- which is expected to open in 13 months, by the way. Paramount is not confirming any of this. But it sounds awfully, and I mean, awfully similar to the situation Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen found itself in- no script with a quick release date- and we all know how that turned out. The director dished on his thoughts on two major flicks hes involved in, star trek and M:I4 and we have the details! When talking about Star Trek two, the super 8 director said, "There have been a lot of things that we've been working on...A lot of important elements that we just know we need to really nail down and solve." He went on to stress the importance of making a movie RIGHT without rushing which is why hes been taking the star trek 2 process nice and easy...he said, "I want to make sure we're putting the story, characters, cast, crew and, most importantly, the audience first, before we start talking about exactly which locations we're going to be shooting at, and what the wardrobe and visual effects budgets are. We need to get the important stuff right first." He also gave some feedback on M14 by saying he felt that this installment will be the BEST of the series and it will be all thanks to director brad bird! Abrams said, "It's really fun. Originally filmed in 2005, this vignette is only made available to fans due to the stalwart perseverance of John Carrigan, with assistance from Graham O'Hare, and Pony R. Horton. John tracked down the original lost footage and made sure scenes that required re-shoots or pickups were done during various other Phase II shoots over time. Post production was supervised rigorously by John and completed in the United Kingdom. www.hitfix.com "I sat down to chat about "Like Crazy" with Yelchin on Saturday and the 21-year-old articulated his character and the appeal of the film even more eloquently than its director Drake Doremus, which is pretty remarkable. A few hours later, I sat next to a casting director who was scouting talent at the fest at another movie's premiere and she brought up how much she loved "Crazy." It turned out we both shared the same opinion on how Yelchin is clearly showing possibilities beyond a young character actor. In many ways, it's a similar trajectory to Joseph Gordon-Levitt but Yelchin may actually have more big time potential. Luckily, moviegoers won't have to wait long to see his work in "Like Crazy" or the upcoming Jodie Foster drama "The Beaver." Oh, right.
