This video is in response to the hundreds of people who have written me saying they knew their nutrition was horrible but felt powerless to improve it because of the schedule constraints of their work, school, or life. Eating 6 small, well balanced meals a day is easy when you know how and once your nutrition is on track you will find it easy to reduce bodyfat to show those 8-pack abs and gain muscle too. The one thing you need to do though is get rid of the idea that food always has to be tasty. Jack LaLane had a great saying "If it tastes good, spit it out!" and its so true. If something is that good then its most likely got too much sugar, salt, fat or artificial flavors. When something tastes really, really good your first thought should be - "whats in this?". Think about what you are eating! If what makes it taste good is the nasty stuff mentioned above then spit it out. Obviously if you are eating a carrot or an apple and it tastes good this doesnt apply. The saying is designed to make you think about everything you eat. If you dont know what is on the list of ingredients and its nutritional content then SPIT IT OUT! The Networked Student was inspired by CCK08, a Connectivism course offered by George Siemens and Stephen Downes during fall 2008. Skydiving Instructor Makes Very Serious Mistake With Student
I shot this video in September 1997. Drop zone is in Northern California. It is a tandem skydive where the instructor wears the parachute and harness and the student is in a harness attached to the instructors harness at four points. 2 at shoulder level and 2 at waist level. The instructor only connected the 2 at waist level. This screw up is the only time, in over 1000 video jumps for me, I have seen this happen. The instructor was fired that day. However he did get the other 2 connected in freefall before the drogue was deployed. This is from March 1993 Strong Enterprises Tandem News: 1. Two cases of failure to hookup the passenger at either shoulder. 2. A second case where only one shoulder snap was attached. In none of the cases was the passenger injured, BUT, let's pause for thought. What caused it to happen, and what could have happened as a result: In the Certification Course we focus on the need for following procedures on every jump. One of the procedures is that once the hooking up process is started, it must be completed. This procedure is aimed at preventing this type of error, and it was prompted by the fact that this very error resulted in the first Tandem fatality. On these jumps: Case #1. On one of the jumps the error was discovered after exit and it was not possible to fasten the shoulder snaps in freefall. This is no surprise because in the fatality mentioned above they impacted with the Instructor still trying to hook up the passenger shoulder snap. On <b>...</b>
