Borrower Arrietty Review As part of the Studio Ghibli Retrospective in Amsterdam, the newest Studio Ghibli movie, Borrower Arrietty saw a Dutch Premiere. For the first time ever I went to the movie theater and watched a Studio Ghibli movie on the big screen. I went into the movie with some lower expectation than usual because this movie is directed by Hiromasa Yonabayashi and not the more traditional Hayao Miyazaki or Isao Takahata. After the movie I can safely say that this is a must watch for any fan of Studio Ghibli. Such a wonderful movie. Too bad the western world (especially NA) will not see a release in theaters or even home cinema soon.

On Sunday april 12, 2009, We visited the famous Ghibli Museum. It was sadly forbidden to take pictures inside. But we managed to take some outside! We were lucky because it was a sunny day. The weather was nice and the park was full of cherry blossoms! Really, it was like a dream! The place was packed of many people (lot's of children too!) and they were many foreigners there too. I've recently started to re-watch a lot of Hayao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli films and I can't describe how nostalgic and amazing Joe Hisaishi's film scores and songs are. I made a really quick piano medley of a couple of my favorite songs. (I'm sorry for some wrong chords/notes, it was done from memory in one take.) I also included Bop Alloy and Uyama Hiroto instrumental piano covers because I think they fit Hisaishi's vibe quite well. Recorded with Logic Studio 9 with Yamaha MM8 as a midi controller.
