His recordings are evidence of his musics evolution, milestones along an open-ended journey. I really do think that unless you get out and try to make your own presets, you won't know how to create that truly unique sound. A lot of people still stick to the synth presets pre-packaged with FL. Those are there only to show you how the synths work :) 2008-07-27: To those wondering how I added the modulation effect, when you have the Piano Roll window open, you can right-click that blank gray panel on the bottom left and it will allow you to set parameters for each note such as velocity and panning. This is a 10 minute synth noodle video of me messing around with the MPC5000 synth. It starts out with a single triangle wave and then moves through all kinds of noises.
