TCHAIKOVSKY: Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48

Passing Through: www.youtube.com - Friends, Please visit my Poet friend "Passing Through's" YouTube channel: www.youtube.com , and support him - Thanks :) I. Pezzo i forma di sonatina: Andante non troppo; Allegro moderato Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48, premiered in 1880, remains today one of the late Romantic era's most definitive compositions. In his score, Tchaikovsky supposedly wrote, "The larger the string orchestra, the better will the composer's desires be fulfilled." Serenade for Strings has 4 movements: I. Pezzo i forma di sonatina: Andante non troppo; Allegro moderato; this was an homage to Mozart II. Valse: Moderato; Tempo di valse III. Élégie: Larghetto elegiaco IV. Finale (Tema russo): Andante; Allegro con spirito (We appreciate Wikipaedia's contributions in the descriptions here)

Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky - Waltz of the Flowers from "The Nutcracker"

A compilation of images of Tchaikovsky, the Russian composer along with some data of his life, and accompanied by Waltz of the Flowers. Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky 1840-1893. Tchaikovsky was one of the greatest composers ever to have lived and an artist whose music conveys the very spirit of 19th century Russia. His music is colourful, passionate and moving. Sorry for bad transitions! I didn't know how to make a proper transition in my first videos.

Tchaikovsky - None But The Lonely Hearts

Title : Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky,(None But The Lonely Hearts) Songs (6), Op. 6: no 6, None but the lonely heart. This, one of Tchaikovsky's best-loved vocal pieces, comes from his collection of six songs, Op. 6. The fact that it was composed to a Russian translation of its original German text by Goethe often obscures its membership in the large family of setting of the same poem, "Nur wer die Sehnsucht kennt" (Only he who knows loneliness). One of Mignon's songs from the novel Wilhelm Meister, this text inspired most of the Romantic lieder composers, most notably Schubert, Schumann, and Wolf, to compose some of their most memorable settings; the poem's sense of desolate yearning speaks to the very heart of Romanticism, and Tchaikovsky certainly owed allegiance to that aesthetic. Tchaikovsky's setting makes use of a syncopated chordal accompaniment; the lack of rhythmic grounding and the chromatic nature of chosen harmonies the inner harmony voices conspire to highlight the restless, disquieted tone of Goethe's text.

Barenboim conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a stellar performance of Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony in F minor for the opening concert of Carnegie Hall's 1997 season. Barenboim's "non-conducting," almost DARING the orchestra not to stay together, is an example of his mastery. Please don't waste space commenting on his "non-classic" technique--only complete plebians and marching band students need a human metronome with an invariant beat pattern. Barenboim's a genius, plain and simple.

1812 Overture - Tchaikovsky ( Mercury Living Presence )

Tchaikovsky was commissioned by Nicolas Rubinstein in 1880 to write a festive and patriotic piece to coincide with the Moscow Cathedral of the Savior(built to commemorate the liberation of the Russians from the 1812 Napoleonic invasion), there already existed a body of precedent for the use of brass band, church bells, and cannon together with symphony orchestra. Plans seems to indicate open-air performance in the great square before the Kremlin, with the cannon to be fired by electrical signal from the conductor's desk, while at a given signal the bells of the new Cathedral, together with the hundreds of bells hung in all the other Kremlin churches and towers, were to add thier festive clamor to the whole grand uproar. However, the Cathedral consecration took place in the summer 1881 minus Tchaikovsky's music. It was Edward Napravnik who finally conducted the premiere of the Overture 1812 during ad all-Tchaikovsky concert at the Moscow Exhibition-presumably under normal concert hall conditions. TCHAIKOVSKY: Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 23 - RUBINSTEIN

Passing Through: www.youtube.com - Friends, Please visit my Poet friend "Passing Through's" YouTube channel: www.youtube.com , and support him - Thanks :) 3. Allegro con fuoco (B flat minor → B flat major) The Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Op. 23, was composed in November 1874 - February 1875 at the instigation of piano virtuoso Nikolai Rubinstein, director of the Moscow Conservatory. It was revised in the summer of 1879 and again in December 1888. The concerto is the most famous of the three piano concertos written by Tchaikovsky. The concerto follows the traditional form of three movements: 1. Allegro non troppo e molto maestoso - Allegro con spirito (B flat minor) 2. Andantino simplice - Prestissimo (D flat major) 3. Allegro con fuoco (B flat minor → B flat major) The concerto is famous for the dramatic tension between soloist and orchestra. It is markedly symphonic in character and differs considerably from the more musically conservative and outwardly virtuoso type of concerto that was then widely popular in Russia, however, the technical demand placed upon the pianist remains considerable. Performed by: Artur Rubinstein (We appreciate Wikipaedia's contributions in the descriptions here)

1812 Overture (Tchaikovsky)

I can easily say that THIS IS THEE BEST VERSION OF TCHAIKOVSKY'S 1812 OVERTURE EVER RECORDED!!!!!!! The 1812 Overture is famous for its very epic finale, and though the piece was written to celebrate the anniversary of Russia's victory over France in 1812, the piece's finale is very often used for the 4th of July during fireworks displays. This is the entire recording of the piece; to hear the very famous finale, you can listen through the whole thing or fast forward the video to where it begins at 11:30 in the video. Enjoy!
