Tamil Civilization is the earliest civilization not only in the Indian sub-continent but in the whole of the world. As Tamils has not ruled themselves for nearly 18 centuries, except brief interludes of Chola & Pandya kingdoms, Tamils had been successesfully fooled by invading rulers as the information sources had been controlled by them and by their political authority. With the advent of new information channels like internet & Cell phones, the present day Tamils have their own channels of communication, and hence these truths are out and spreading. We request the Tamils to propagate this info. among people to bargain and to safeguard Tamil's political rights. Sri Lankan Governments officials categorized the violence as uncontrollable race riots instigated by the killing of 13 Sinhala soldiers on the night of July 23. However, history and the course of events during Black July illustrate the Sri Lankan Government's undeniable involvement in the genocidal acts against Tamils. july 24 (Day 1) At 1 o'clock in the morning of July 24, the army rounded up hundreds of Tamils in Trincomalee, Mannar, and Vavuniya in the Northeast who had fled the anti-Tamil riots of 1977 and 1981. These Tamils were forcibly taken and left without possessions in the central hills. Before the riots broke out in Colombo, the army in Jaffna went on rampage killing 51 innocent Tamil civilians. In Trincomalee, similar violence broke out as members of the Navy randomly shot at civilians and burnt down Tamil property. In the evening in Colombo, the state funeral was being organized for the soldiers. Thousands of people arrived at the cemetery but the bodies failed to appear. After waiting several hours, much of the crowd objecting the burial in Kanatte and demanded the bodies to be returned to the next of kin. Ms Hillary expresses concern over Sri Lankan Tamils' issue United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday shared Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's concern over the plight of internally-displaced Sri Lankan Tamils living in camps and told her that the US was looking at "innovative and creative ideas" in breaking the impasse. Ms. Clinton's response came when Ms. Jayalalithaa observed that even though the war in Sri Lanka was over two years ago, Tamils in Jaffna were still unable to go back to their homes. The two leaders exchanged views on a range of issues when Ms. Clinton called on Ms. Jayalalithaa at the Secretariat here. The Secretary of State expressed the hope that the US move would enable the Sri Lankan Tamils to return to their original places of dwelling. The Chief Minister told Ms. Clinton that Sri Lankan refugees in Tamil Nadu were being given facilities that were available to Indian citizens. Last year, Black Tiger commandos stormed the Sri Lankan airbase in Anudradhapura in LTTE's first combined Black Tiger and Tamil Eelam Air Force attack, destroying more than 10 air crafts. Senior Commanders of the LTTE and other Black Tigers were present with Pirapaharan at an undisclosed location in Vanni. 76 of the 254 Black Sea Tigers who have died were female commandos. 81 male and 71 female Black Tiger commandos have died in ground operations. (SALEM, Ore.) - Black July, is the term generally associated with the start of deadly combat ops in the Sri Lanka Civil War that began in 1983, and ended two years ago. It is a story of a minority population living in a country that seeks to be a religious nation; not Christian, or Jewish, or Muslim, but Buddhist. In Sri Lanka, religious difference culminated in a genocide of tens of thousands of Tamil civilians and also military prisoners of war. Oh wait, if a liberation resistance group is deemed 'terrorist' by western governments, they aren't classified as POW's, and that is a highly problematic situation when it comes to maintaining human rights that are mandated by the United Nations. The final toll from the Tamil Genocide in terms of human lives, will really never truly be known, but up to 146000 people remain unaccounted for according to some sources. As I indicated in my last report about the deadly events that led to so much death, the Sri Lanka government and its supporters were sure to either kill or kidnap Tamil friendly journalists, some of whom were Sinhalese, and that largely kept the Genocide from public view.

Channel 4's film addressed a crime of omission as well -- the failure of the international community to effectively protest against the treatment of civilians in the closing stages of the civil war. It began with the withdrawal of the United Nations from Kilinochchi, the Tamil capital in the north, after the Sri Lankan government had announced that it could no longer guarantee the safety of the UN mission, a move interpreted here as a premeditated plan to remove inconvenient witnesses.
