Last Tasmanian Tiger, Thylacine, 1933

An extremely agitated thylacine. Notice that when rearing up on its hind legs, it often rests the entire heel on the ground in a "plantigrade" stance. This accounts for the long heel mark sometimes seen in its tracks. This doesn't usually occur in dogs, as they walk primarily on just their toes.

Tasmanian Devil Young

Taronga's Tasmanian Devil Keepers got their first hands-on check of four little devil joeys, the first born at the Zoo this breeding season. The youngsters, which were born to mother, Nina were snuggled tightly in their maternal nest and keepers gently lifted them out to check their body condition and determine their sex. Closer inspection revealed that Nina had given birth to one female and three male joeys.

CGRundertow TY THE TASMANIAN TIGER for Xbox Video Game Review

Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger for the Xbox. Released in 2002 and developed by Krome, this game was published by EA and is also available for the PS2 and the Gamecube. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger uses a platforming set-up similar to games like Mario or Blinx, but the game stands out due to its Australian setting. Following the title character, the game focuses on the capture of 72 talismans in an effort to save Australia from pure evil! Ty the Tasmanian Tiger also spawned 2 sequels, a sign of its success. This CGRundertow review features gameplay and commentary from Classic Game Room's Gabe. Tasmanian Tiger (ULTRA RARE OLD FOOTAGE - no animal sound)

Thylacine is commonly known as the Tasmanian Tiger, was the largest known carnivorous MARSUPIAL of modern times, become extinct in the 20th century (7 September 1936), and has some really impressive features such as 46 teeth and a jaws able to open at an unusual 120 degrees. An amazing... but extinct animal! This video was shot in 1933 by the naturalist David Fleay. NOTE, TO PEOPLE WHO INSIST IN HAVING RACIAL ARGUMENTATIONS: The conquests/damage (good/bad things) that each race/civilisation(group of men) is responsible for, is proportional to their power. Which means, when whites colonized the world they were the most powerful race so the good things/damage caused to the world is proportional to that huge power. Another example is the Maoris, which were the race that ruled New Zealand from 14th century until white men arrival, they were responsible for 32 species extinctions. On the other end, in Africa still exist lions, elephants, etc. (megafauna), not because black indigenous people had nature conservation awareness, but because those people were incapable of developing technologies efficient enough to give them advantage over that animals (like the other races that are responsible for extinctions due to over-hunting, or responsible for extinctions caused by pollution from their industries). This means that given the chance of superiority any human race will behave the same way, which is get the most/best to themselves (possibly causing problems to other live beings).

Tasmania Vs Central Coast Mariners 2010

Mariners leave it late to down Tasmania 3-0 Central Coast Mariners beat Tasmania 3-0 before a crowd of 1768 at KGV Park this evening, but it took the A-League side 76 minutes to break the deadlock. Tasmania put up a plucky performance and had several chances to score. The opening half was goalless, but Tasmania may well have led by that stage as Andy Brennan twice missed good chances. The Mariners played neat possession football and forced several corners, but they were unable to break down the resolute Tasmanian defence. Patricio Perez was at the heart of most of the Mariners' moves, but the front runners, Daniel McBreen and Nik Mrdja were unable to capitalise on his passes, as well as the openings created by Oliver Bozanic, Matthew Lewis and Michael McGlinchey. Will Abbott and Marc Iseli played valiantly at the heart of the Tasmanian defence, while Liam Scott and Jim Pennicott did well in pushing forward down the flanks. Nathan Pitchford was reliable in goal and turned a Perez shot against the bar and out for a corner in the 8th minute, while in the 23rd minute, he did well to block a shot from McBreen. Tasmania made four changes at half-time, bringing on keeper Sam Kruijver, as well as Tom Roach, Jonathon Lo and Daniel Brown for Pitchford, Brayden Mann, Bobby Eaves and Brennan. Ben Hamlett replaced Chris McKenna on the hour. It may be the last time local fans see Hamlett for a while as he leaves for the United States tomorrow to take up a soccer scholarship at an ...

Tasmanian devils under threat - 04 Oct 07

The future of the Tasmanian Devil, a small animal with a fiercesome reputation, is under threat from an aggressive facial cancer raging through the species. The deadly cancer has hit one of the devils' only remaining disease-free refuges and could wipe out Australia's last surviving marsupial carnivore.
