Özü Türk - (Tatar-Tatarlar-Tatars from Finland) Part 1

The Crimean Tatars are descendants of the people who inhabited the Crimean peninsula and its surroundings for over seven centuries. The majority of these were nomadic Turkic people who came to Eastern Europe with the Chingizid (Turkic-Mongolian) armies. They established the Crimean Khanate in 1400s, and fusing with the native people of peninsula, they have constituted the distinctive "Crimean Tatar" people. Crimean peninsula, today a part of Ukraine is the homeland of the Crimean Tatars, speak Kipchak Turkic language. After the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 1783, the Crimean Tatars have largely emigrated from their homeland. Today an estimated 5 million Tatars live in diaspora, having settled in countries as Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, the US and Germany. The remaining Crimean Tatars in the homeland were deported on the 18 th of May, 1944 by the Soviet government, being unjustly accused of collaboration with the Nazis. Almost half of the Tatars have lost their lives in the process. Until today, only half of the Crimean Tatars have repatriated, the rest being unable to return to homeland due to political, and economic difficulties. The word "Tatar" appears in the Kultigin tablets belonging to the 8 th century which were located in Mongolia today. These were the first written document of the Turkic peoples. According to the inscriptions, Tatars were one of the tribes living in the vicinity of Altai river. In the 13 th century, Tatars were said to be forcibly incorporated ...

"Facing Southeast" - Muslim Tatars in Poland

For centuries Poland resisted Tatar raids. Since the 14th century, however, Tatars - mainly political emigrants - began to settle in Poland and in Lithuania. Over the centuries many mosques were built across the lands of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The Great Khan, as the Tatars called the Commonwealth's king, made no objections to their making the pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina. The Tatar remained loyal to the Commonwealth even during the conflict with the Ottoman Empire at the battle of Vienna. Owing to enlived contacts with the East, Polish gentry adopted many elements of Tatar arms. Bulsara feat. Tatar - all up

A song by Mongolian rock/punk group Bulsara, featuring Mongolian hip-hop group Tatar. An excellent collaboration of 2 different music genres by 2 of Mongolia's most famous artists. Note: No music video has been made for this song. I basically just mixed together scenes from the other music videos of the 2 groups and added in this song to go along with it.

Ivan the Terrible & Russians vs. Muslim Tatars

EUROPEAN HERITAGE LIBRARY WWW.EUROHERITAGE.NET In the 13th century, the Russian Slavic states (especially the massive Kiev Rus state) were obliterated by the Shamanist/Animist Mongol armies and, especially, their Muslim Turkic mercenaries (Tatars). Most of the region, as well as the nation-creating trade rights, were dominated by Tatar and Mongol states, especially Muslim Turkic Kazan. In the 16th century, Ivan the Terrible crowned himself emperor of the 3rd Rome (as the 2nd had been destroyed by the Jihad of the Ottoman Turks), united most of the Slavs under the new Russia (Muscowy), and led a military invasion against the Muslim occupying armies at Kazan, Astrakhan, Sibir (Siberia), etc. His efforts would ultimately lead to the creation of Russia, quickly to become the largest empire on earth (still today). From the Soviet propaganda classic, "Ivan the Terrible". The copyright of this film is expired. EUROPEAN HERITAGE LIBRARY WWW.EUROHERITAGE.NET
