TechCrunch | August Capital Party : Democratic Advice

www.zennie2005.blogspot.com -- This is a video of my first TechCrunch Party, this one held at August Capital, a venture capital company at 2490 Sand Hill Road. My objective at this party was to first, discover what advice my tech friends and associates had for the Democratic Party and Senator Barack Obama on the eve of the Democratic National Convention. Second, I wanted to capture what it was like to be at one of these events, and third, I wanted to connect with friends I have in the industry I'm in. Finally, thanks to Michael Arrington of TechCrunch for the opportunity to cover this event the way I did. Party Report (after the upload)

TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington to buy back own blog?

www.nma.tv Blogger Michael Arrington has a reputation as a Silicon Valley kingmaker. He sold his TechCrunch blog to AOL for $25 million. Arrington started CrunchFund, a venture fund for tech companies. Big name investors lined up, hoping to catch some "deal flow". He was called out by journalists for investing in companies TechCrunch writes about. They cried 'conflict of interest'. AOL's Tim Armstrong initially defended Arrington, but Arianna Huffington said he is definitely out. Despite already being fired, Arrington has given AOL an ultimatum ...stop messing with TechCrunch, or he'll leave.

Song A Day #217a: I'm MG Siegler

Buy this song for a buck! bit.ly The article the song refers to: bit.ly So, those that know me, know that I don't often address internet critics. Everyone's got an opinion, no use getting up in arms about it. But MG Siegler's post on TechCrunch was so nasty, and so high profile, that it seemed like I had to strike back. And so I have. I present to you, "I'm MG Siegler", in which I throw his words back at him, and more. One note: The part about him blowing his boss...that's completely made up. I really just wanted to use the rhyme "careington/arrington". Enjoy!
