In order to safeguard against violence, one Israeli club has installed panic buttons in strategic areas as a new security system. JN1 visited the MAD Club in Tel Aviv and spoke with the owner, Dani Amit. He expressed his confidence in the new system and felt it would be particularly reassuring to the parents of younger adults who frequent the club on some nights. The wireless communication system used for the panic buttons is sold by Vellux, and JN1 also spoke with their Israeli branch manager, Nimrod Haim. He showed us how the system works and also explained how effective it can be as a deterrent. MAD Club's owner, Dani Amit, had this to say, "Between Sunday to Saturday, we have at least 700 to 1000 people every night. People come, enjoy their nights. Actually these security buttons help us to secure our customers, and people come here and just have more fun... Some nights a week, we have a younger crowd. We have 18, 19, 20, 21 [year olds]. Actually when their parents send them here, I'm sure, you know, they feel much more secure when they send them here to party. And they are in good hands." The Israeli branch manager of Vellux, Nimrod Haim, said, "We [also] have panic buttons available for the staff that are located in the bars, in the entrance, in the exit, where the DJ sits, and a couple of more hidden places. So it's deterring from these cases because also the people that are looking for violence, or they're drunk or something, they are also see these panic buttons ...
