Colosseum Rome's Arena of Death [1/4]

The Colosseum, or the Coliseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheatre, is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. It is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and Roman engineering. Occupying a site just east of the Roman Forum, its construction started in 72 AD under the emperor Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD under Titus, with further modifications being made during Domitian's reign (81--96).

Colosseum of Venatum - Minecraft

For more of my MC projects, check out my planetminecraft account: www.planetminecraft.com The Venatum Colosseum by Sounas and Bodydrag on the Godcraft server. It took aprox. 2,5 months to build because of other side projects and because of the sheer volume of materials the Colosseum devoured on a daily basis. Me thinks it turned out pretty well! Credits to me (the designer) and Bodydrag (co designer and major builder), and many others, including (but not limited to): Skaramicke, Zweibaum, Sparven999, Crazyjokke, Cxhristian, Erupyon, Huts98 It is entirely accurate to the real Colosseum. Only have staircases been left out at certain points (they would have look really ugly), and does the Colosseum here have 70 outer arches on each ring instead of 80. The emperor seat also left much to my own imagination :) The size is aprox. 190 by 180 and it's 48 high. Track: ES Posthumus - Mosane Pi ES Posthumus - Isunova Pi

COLOSSEUM Italy

The Colosseum of Rome is the most monumental and impressive elliptical amphitheatre in the world. It is estimated that its construction began in the year 72 AD, and it was here, that the Roman's desire for outrageous performance and violent entertainment were fully satisfied. The massive interior of its oval grounds could seat 50000. Surrounded by tranquility as though within a city wall, the Colosseum is a dominant focal point among the Roman hills. A gorge-like labyrinth of walkways and subterranean chambers descends deep into the earth, formerly occupied by gladiators, slaves and caged animals ready for the slaughter.

Minecraft - Roman Colosseum

This was done over the last few weeks with some friends on our SMP server. It was our first large scale project. It is 189 blocks long, 156 blocks wide, and 47 blocks tall. "The Colosseum is roughly elliptical in shape, with its long axis, oriented WSW-ESE, which measures 188m and the short one 156m." We learned that anything as tall, or taller, needs to be sunk below sea level. Get minecraft here! www.minecraft.net Download the map! www.mediafire.com (rar) www.mediafire.com (zip)

Montreux Casino was built in 1881 and had modifications made to it in 1903. Throughout the twentieth century, the site played host to many great symphony orchestras and well-known conductors. By the late 1960s, jazz, blues and rock artists began to perform there. In 1967 the Casino became the venue for the Montreux Jazz Festival, which was the brainchild of music promoter Claude Nobs. The festival was held there annually and lasted for three days. The highlights of this era were Keith Jarrett, Jack DeJohnette, Bill Evans, Nina Simone, Jan Garbarek, and Ella Fitzgerald. Originally featuring almost exclusively jazz artists, in the 1970s the festival began broadening its scope, including blues, soul, and rock artists. Pokemon Colosseum walkthrough (w/ commentary) Part 1 - We're the villain!...kinda...

Hey everyone, I'm Yoshiller! Welcome to my new walkthrough for Pokemon Colosseum! After having small cravings to play this game, I decided to make a walkthrough out of it. I had originally tried to record this not long after I finished my "Rayman Raving Rabbids" walkthrough, but after about 3 parts, I cancelled the walkthrough. Now it's time for me to try again! Pokemon Colosseum is the first 3-D Pokemon RPG, and you start off with an Espeon and an Umbreon. It turns out, the main character you play as (in my case, Bradley) worked for an evil group known as Team SNAGEM and stole a machine that allowed him to steal people's Pokemon. But after meeting a girl (in my case, Pasky), he learns about "Shadow Pokemon", Pokemon that have become evil and have had their hearts locked away within themselves. Using the stolen device, the objective is to capture the opponent's Shadow Pokemon and purify it. Events in this part: -Introduction movie -Arriving at Outskirt Stand -First battle -Arriving in Phenac City -Meeting female hero (Pasky) -Obtaining TM Torment -Battle with Team SNAGEM grunts -Buying Poke Balls

The Roman Architecture

The Architecture of Ancient Rome adopted the external Greek architecture for their own purposes, which were so different from Greek buildings as to create a new architectural style. The two styles are often considered one body of classical architecture. This approach is considered reproductive, and sometimes it hinders scholars' understanding and ability to judge Roman buildings by Greek standards, particularly when relying solely on external appearances. The Romans absorbed Greek influence, apparent in many aspects closely related to architecture; for example, this can be seen in the introduction and use of the Triclinium in Roman villas as a place and manner of dining. The Romans, similarly, were indebted to their Etruscan neighbors and forefathers who supplied them with a wealth of knowledge essential for future architectural solutions, such as hydraulics and in the construction of arches. Social elements such as wealth and high population densities in cities forced the ancient Romans to discover new (architectural) solutions of their own. The use of vaults and arches together with a sound knowledge of building materials, for example, enabled them to achieve unprecedented successes in the construction of imposing structures for public use. Examples include the aqueducts of Rome, the Baths of Diocletian and the Baths of Caracalla, the basilicas and perhaps most famously of all, the Colosseum. They were reproduced at smaller scale in most important towns and cities in ...
