The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was released in 1966 alongside the western film, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, directed by Sergio Leone. The score is composed by frequent Leone collaborator Ennio Morricone, whose distinctive original compositions, containing gunfire, whistling, and yodeling permeate the film. The main theme, resembling the howling of a coyote, is a two-note melody that is a frequent motif, and is used for the three main characters, with a different instrument used for each one: flute for Blondie (The Man With No Name), arghilofono for Angel Eyes and human voices for Tuco.

MY FACEBOOK PAGE www.facebook.com The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Italian: Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo), is a 1966 Italian epic spaghetti western film directed by Sergio Leone, starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach in the title roles. Ennio Morricone composed the famous film score, including its main theme. It is the third and final film in the Dollars trilogy following A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and For a Few Dollars More (1965). Leone was unable to find an actual cemetery for the Sad Hill shootout scene, so the Spanish pyrotechnics chief hired 250 Spanish soldiers to build one in Carazo near Salas de los Infantes, which they completed in two days. Here is a trailer I made for the Good the Bad and the Ugly in my VP Editing class during the Winter 2010 term. I really like this film, it is one of my all time favorite westerns. A must see for anybody that hasn't seen it before!

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo) (1966), is the concluding part of Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy. It is not only the most graphic of the three, but also surpasses the compassion and dark humour of its predecessors. The plot centres around three gunslingers competing to find a fortune in buried Confederate gold amid the violent chaos of gunfights, hangings, Civil War battles and prison camps. Leone pays homage to the Hollywood western while revising its cherished traditions. Moreover, the story's deceptive simplicity allows Leone to interweave strands of communal and individual drama, which he throws into shocking relief against the bloody futility of the American Civil War. The genre had never witnessed such stylised violence, yet, while Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach unflinchingly accept it, Clint Eastwood can still spare some humanity for a dying soldier. Superbly scored by Ennio Morricone, this proved to be the benchmark for Euro/Spaghetti Westerns until Leone outdid himself with "Once upon a Time in the West" (1968). Trivia: Although Clint Eastwood is usually top-billed in this film's credits, Eli Wallach has the most screen-time. In the scene where the bridge is blown up, and Tuco and Blondie are hunkered down behind sandbags waiting for the explosion, Clint Eastwood's career came within 2 feet of ending prematurely. A fist-sized piece of rock shrapnel from the explosion slams into the sandbag right next to Eastwood's head (watch it to ...

Title: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly Artist(s): Hugo Montenegro Album: This Is Hugo Montenegro Recorded: 1971 Genre: Easy Listening, Lo-Fi

I was surfing about on here several days ago and came across someones upload of the Hugo Montenegro version of this tune. I used to play this regularly, but it has been quite a few years now since I have given it a go. So......there are some rough spots in this one. I did not have the time to spare to do several takes and pick the best one. This is pretty much just sitting down and playing it. This arrangement is my own, but it is influenced by several different versions. I am playing this on the mighty EX - 42, because everyone seems to like to see this vintage Electone in action. I have to say that for a 1973 model, it still kicks butt !

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was released in 1966 alongside the western film, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, directed by Sergio Leone. The score is composed by frequent Leone collaborator Ennio Morricone, whose distinctive original compositions, containing gunfire, whistling, and yodeling permeate the film. The score complements the film's American Civil War, containing the mournful ballad, "The Story of a Soldier", which is sung by prisoners as Tuco is being tortured by Angel Eyes.[3] The film's famous climax, a three-way Mexican standoff, begins with the melody of "The Ecstasy of Gold" and is followed by "The Triple Duel". This epic showdown is considered by many film critics to be one of the most electrifying climaxes ever filmed, and the music is an integral component of the drama.
