Here Comes the Sun by Angela McCluskey (benefiting Sweet Relief)

for iTunes link click here: tinyurl.com READ BELOW Inspired by the words of George Harrison and the work of the organization Sweet Relief. Angela McCluskey has recorded a version of Here Comes The Sun that she hopes will help raise awareness, and much needed funds, for the SWEET RELIEF MUSICIANS FUND: an organization dedicated to helping musicians who are battling debilitating illnesses. This interpretation of the legendary song, was arranged by Paul Cantelon (The Diving Bell &The Butterfly, W, Everything is Illuminated, Conviction and the currently in theaters The Music Never Stopped). The sales from all digital stores will go directly to Sweet Relief. There is no agenda here, other than helping give back to the people who have given so much to us. It's basically a giant thank you to all the great musicians of the world who have helped enrich our lives and who now find themselves struggling to cope. The video was directed by acclaimed photographer Jason Armstrong Beck, produced by Dawn Fanning & David Moore (Downloading Nancy) with cinematography by Oscar-nominated Seamus McGarvey (Atonement, The Soloist, World Trade Center,) and production design by Franckie Diago (City Island, Treme, The Beaches of Agnes) and stars Sharon Angela (The Sopranos, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai). This song is available for download worldwide on all good digital retailers. Below are some recommended links. Fifteen Men (Bottle of Rum) - Original Version

The most realistic and accurate version of this all-time pirate tune. Forget POTC. The song is subtitled, so you can sing it in your nights at sea! This is from the Roger Wagner Chorale recording of Sea Chantys. Capitol record number P3462 of 1959. Harve Presnell is the soloist. Thanks to IUFTR for the info and sorry for my big mistake. As you will know, the song is based on the lyrics by RL Stevenson's Treasure Island, one of the greatest novels ever written. I think this version captures its essence, and because of it I say it's the most realistic and accurate version (for me). Stevenson is one of my favourite writers. From The Master of Ballantrae and The Wrecker, his horror literature as The Body Snatcher or Markheim, to his travel books as The Silverado Squatters. I have ALL his works published in Spain! ;)

Workin' Them Brushes - Drum Lesson

bangthedrumsquickly.com In this lesson we go over a couple brush patterns (a basic pattern, and ballad pattern). We also go over some lics to go with the patterns. When practicing the brushes you want to maintain a good sound, and the best way to achieve that is by making sure the left hand circling is played in time. Good brush playing requires a lot of the same skills as when playing with sticks, such as keeping a good feel and sound, listening to and accompanying the soloist, and also soloing. but thats another story. Johnny Mathis ~ How Do You Keep the Music Playing

This is another absolutely stunning and beautiful marriage of the gifts of Johnny Mathis, Michel Legrand and Marilyn and Alan Bergman. From the 1993 CD, with same title as this song, and again showcasing the talents of these 4 incomparable artists. While there are currently several other great uploads of this song, particularly two live in concert ("Chances Are" PBS special and "Live By Request" special), I'm sharing this for it's distinction - not - in 'addition to' . Most performers, and I believe Johnny has said this in interviews, experience a completely different dynamic when performing 'live' vs. recording in the studio. While still in the 'zone', and performing to his fullest in front of an audience, you can hear and hopefully appreciate, the experience of Johnny being 'one' with the music in this studio performance. While concert orchestrations are lovely, and compliment the performer- here- Johnny's voice and solo piano work of (either Michel Legrand or Michael Lang according to the liner notes- but in this case I will hope it's Michel Legrand)- play off and with each other, as two instruments. As the composer, arranger and conductor of the music for the CD it seems fitting that Michel Legrand is the soloist here- magnificent playing. If you listen into Johnny's interview with Noel Edmonds (gerrymoran1 channel- song: "Johnny Mathis- If It's Magic") you'll hear his great (and I find fascinating) description of how he orchestrates his voice with choices of ...

Mozart Piano Concerto 16 (1/3) Allegro Assai

The Piano Concerto No. 16 in D Major, KV. 451 is a concertante work for piano, or pianoforte, and orchestra by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart composed the concerto for performance at a series of concerts at the Vienna venues of the Trattnerhof and the Burgtheater in the first quarter of 1784, where he was himself the soloist.[1] Mozart noted this concerto as complete on 22 March 1784 in his catalog, and performed the work later that month. Cliff Eisen has postulated that this performance was on 31 March 1784 The work is orchestrated for solo piano, flute, two oboes, two bassoons, two horns, two trumpets, timpani and strings. The concerto is in three movements: 1. Allegro assai 2. Andante in G major 3. Allegro di molto Simon Keefe has noted contemporary comments from Mozart's era on how the woodwind writing in this concerto showed a "newly intricate and sophisticated" character compared to Mozart's prior keyboard concerti.[1] MS Cole has noted Mozart's use of meter changes in the coda of the finale, starting at measure 315, from 2/4 to 3/8, and subsequent thematic transformations.[3] Joel Galand has noted that the finale, in rondo/ritornello form, avoids use of a new re-entry theme

PS22 Chorus "DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'" Journey

ps22chorus.blogspot.com Another request from the kids (Elijah and Jared, the soloist on "Eye Of The Tiger"), and even from some PS22 Chorus fans too. The song, Don't Stop Believin' is an eighties classic, and the fifth grade chorus extraordinaire deliver some rather outstanding harmonies to recreate it into something different and pretty darn special! Another surprise favorite of the year! And soloist Elijah gives Steve Perry a run for his money, doing a rockin' job with his amazing talent! According to i-Tunes, Journey's "signature song, 'Don't Stop Believing', is the top-selling catalog track in iTunes history, at more than two million downloads". Maybe this will help score a few more.... Should be noted that Journey once included American Idol judge Randy Jackson on bass and background vocals, although he came into the group after the release of this mega-hit. Again, according to Wikipedia, the song has appeared in a number of film and television series, including The Wedding Singer, Family Guy, Monster, Shrek the Halls, Bedtime Stories, Yes Dear, The Comebacks, View from the Top, South Park, Cold Case, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, My Name Is Earl, Just Shoot Me, Laguna Beach, American Idol, Scrubs, The Sopranos, and Glee
