Thurston Moore - "Circulation" (Official Video)

From the new album "Demolished Thoughts", now sale-priced: bit.ly From Thurston: Circulation, the 2nd video from Demolished Thoughts (after the dream cloud love + war visuals of "Benediction" by the mysterious, elusive director Josef Marie) - was inspired by the free-spirit poet/artist girls of Northampton Massachusetts who would explode and levitate into expressionistic transcendence whenever cool records would spin by local DJs Bill Nace, Jake Meghinsky and, when asked (rarely) - T Moore hisself. After being entranced and inspired by this ritualistic love energy it was decided by TM and Rose Mackey, one of the leading lights of this wild heart gang, to combine forces. Rose, a film director by devotion, and TM, who was looking to visualize his jam "Circulation" came together, employed the sensitive eye of Andrew Kesin, long running chief administrator of TM's own Ecstatic Peace record label, to capture the magic touch of dance and music..... ------- and we all shine on. Thurston Moore-Superchrist

Psychic Hearts is a solo album by Sonic Youth member Thurston Moore. The album was released in 1995 through Geffen Records. The album has been remastered "for goodness" and reissued in 2006. The 2 record vinyl version of the reissue contains bonus tracks on the fourth album side where on the original vinyl release the fourth side had a drawing by cover artist Rita Ackermann etched directly into the vinyl. The album makes reference to female rock stars Yoko Ono and Patti Smith. Many Patti Smith references and tributes have been made by Sonic Youth. When Psychic Hearts was re-released the next decade it was praised by critic Brandon Stosuy of Pitchfork Media:[6] Released after Experimental Jet Set Trash and No Star and joined by Steve Shelley on drums and Tim Foljahn on second guitar, Moore's femme-themed solo debut, Psychic Hearts, is a collection of often-beautiful sunset guitar rock. Of his vocal turns, my favorite is the caffeinated, teen-angst/dysfunction of the propulsive title track. Moore's vocals are also particularly swoon-worthy on the whispery "Pretty Bad" and breathy "Ono Soul". Most of Psychic Hearts, however, works because of the simple repetitions of instrumentals like lilting opener "Blues From Beyond the Grave" and the gently paranoid "(I Got a) Catholic Block" patterning that surfaces between Moore's voice in "Feathers". The centerpiece is the 20-minute instrumental exeunt, "Elegy for All the Dead Rock *s". The track's distinct movements mingle fluidly ...

Thurston Moore - Illuminine

On day two I played the second song, "Illuminine," in a field alive with sheep, bells tinkling to the sky from their necks, surrounding me as I sang into a specially-prepared dirt-mic, where the resonance becomes richer the more prone the performer's body is to the earth. Lyrics of salvation through lonesome meditation of nature and its reflection of animal magnetism. Surrendering to spirit desire. East Side called Jericho's where I was due to DJ. I faked putting on a record, after playing "Hey Jude" (Beatles) and "China Grove" (Doobies), and plugged my acoustic into a double ganged set of vintage Pignose amps and reminisced about those early streets where the pizza is particularly punk and saints lead you to playgrounds of eros and thought-magicks. The bartender, an old fast-folk flyabout from Beck's NYC in-search-of-the-secret-of-Pussy-Galore days, recorded the jam, titled "Orchard Street," on his 1984 Sony Walkman WM-D6C Pro and Fed Ex'd the tape to Beck's LA hideout. Thurston Moore about Piano Piece #13 during the Goodbye, 20th Century tour in Europe

Sonic Youth decided to take the SYR4 material on an exclusive tour in Europe in June 2001, finally getting a chance to premiere the pieces they had not yet performed live, one of the pieces was "Piano Piece #13", which was performed 4 times and yes, that means 4 innocent pianos had to die. One of the pianos was kept by art centre Vooruit in Ghent, Belgium. 10 years later Thurston Moore encounters this piano in art centre Vooruit.

Thurston Moore - Blood Never Lies

On day four, I played the fourth song "Blood Never Lies," while hitchhiking to Venice Beach on the PCH. I set out 30 minutes early to get a "head" start before Beck came whizzing by in a rented British six-cylinder Triumph TR6, one hand on the wheel, the other whipping a whip-mic over his head and every time it came close to my mouth I would sing the lyrics that came to me as my thumb beckoned psychedelic housewives to consider taking me into town. Every time they come for you You know it's time to run Everybody knows it's true How your love has come undone Now he has his chance to take and he will take you out of here Take you to a secret state Where blood is light and blood is clear Every time they take you away He knows you're never gone You know you stole his heart away And he falls into a freezing sun Now he has to kidnap you And keep you bound in endless light And you know he never lets you leave his blood is clear, it never lies
