Narrow track vehicles - the convergence of the car and the motorcycle

As the world's roads become ever more crowded, many manufacturers are looking to single and narrow track vehicles as cars of the future which will reduce congestion. This video examines Nissans tandem two-seat, half width tilting car, the Landglider, and examines all the other work being done around the world as narrow track vehicles begin to make their case. Vehicles covered include Renault Twizy ZE, Volkswagen L1, Yamaha Tesseract, VentureOne, Peugeot Hybrid3 Evolution, Peugeot Hybrid3 Compressor, Nissan PIVO II, Lumeneo Smera, Tilting Car Project, Sidam XNovo, Piaggio MP3 HyS, Xingyue, Auto Moto, Adiva Moose, Adiva 3Route, BMW C3 Electric, Tango, and the reasons behind global traffic congestion

Tilt Bed Part 1 Plan Disassemble

I am a Businessman with a "hobby garage" CrankShaft Motor Car Club, LLC (CrankShaftMotorCarClub.com) and started this little "car-guys-health club" so I'd have a place to "play" and maintain my sanity! I can get together with friends and help them with their projects and they lend a hand with mine too! This is my 1990 Chevy 1/2 Ton which has an Air Ride suspension. Walk with me through this project while I fabricate and have some fun! It's not like OverHaulin' or some Discovery Channel video.....because the mistakes haven't been made yet nor have all of the bugs been worked out of the fabrication process. I'm building my own Hinge Brackets and installing a Power Actuator, to end up with a Sideways Tilting bed assembly. The (8) bed bolts have already been removed, and I'll show you where they mount on this 1990 Chevrolet, which will be pretty standard removal procedure for most pickups. Things like the Fuel Tank filler hose will have to be disconnected, along with the rear Taillights, BEFORE the bed is removed from the frame. Then the original bolts need to be temporarily reinstalled to help align the bed and then we'll study the undercarriage to decide "where" to mount the Hinge Brackets.

Arduino Accelerometer-based RC Car Demo

I hacked the remote control to an RC car, then hooked it up to a 3-axis/triple-axis accelerometer and and Arduino to make a gravitational-drive vehicle. Tilting the remote left or right controls the direction of the car, and tilting forward or towards me controls whether the wheels spin forward or in reverse. I wrote up the project and added the code over at antipastohw.blogspot.com, and the accelerometer is up on www.moderndevice.com

DSB ICE TD (Diesel ICE gen. 3) (Leased from DB) | DanishRail

music: www.youtube.com ICE TD From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The DBAG Class 605 is a high-speed diesel multiple unit (DMU), in service with Deutsche Bahn and DSB, commonly known as the ICE TD. Development Following the successful inauguration of the Intercity-Express system in 1991 and the order to develop the ICE 2, in 1994 DB started plans to upgrade long-distance services using conventional lines, with comfort level raised near the ICE standard and higher speeds, with tilting electric multiple units to replace locomotive-pulled InterCity (IC) and InterRegio (IR) trains. DB assigned the name IC T to the project, with "T" standing for Triebzug (multiple unit). This development resulted in the ICE T. Later, Deutsche Bahn also saw the need for a similar new train on its non-electrified routes, and started the ICT-VT project, with "VT" standing for Verbrennungstriebwagen (internal combustion motor car). Deutsche Bahn pursued the development of the ICE 3, IC T and ICT-VT projects in parallel. The trains share a general styling concept, most prominently a lounge section in the front cars with a view forward at the tracks, being separated only by a glass wall from the driver's compartment. Technically, the trains share a lot of components and technical layout, as well as the concept of distributed traction: in contrast to the ICE 1 and ICE 2 designs, the new units were planned not with powerheads, but with peripheral underfloor motors, in order to reduce axle load ...

Build your own low profile car ramps for about $60 Part 1

If you have a really low car and want to do basic work on your own you're going to need some ramps. For cars like Vipers and Corvettes you're going to need to buy Race ramps for $200 or more. Not even the lowest profile rhino ramps work. If you dont want to spend the money build your own ramps for about $60. Materials At least a jigsaw. Better equipment=nicer ramps. 6 boards measuring 8 feet long 10 inches wide and 2 inches tall. If you have wider then 10 inch tires get some wider boards. Wood Glue 50 4 inch nails Power Drill Small drill bit Marker Tape measure * I am not responsible for potential injuries or a potentially damaged car. Do this at your own risk. Be safe*

Folding Electric (3 wheeled) Car from 1920s

Thanks for subscribing! This is a film clip of two females assembling, unfolding a three (3) wheel electric car. The car can be fashioned as either a convertible with side doors or as a front entrance car with full cover for the passenger compartment. The car can be folded up for storage. Presumable it is an all electric drive vehicle for ease of maintenance and to eliminate the the issue of cranking the start motor of the combustion engine of the day. Anyone know more about this vehicle, please send me a message or comment with what you know. Another electric car similar to this has 4 wheels, is all electric, with a front entrance door. Jay Leno has one. It is called the Baker Electric.

3greenwheels.blogspot.com Take a Formula One driving position, three wheels, a high-power 550cc v-twin engine designed for motocross, put an additional electric motor into each wheel, and an ingenious tilt system. Finnish student Heikki Naulapaa designed this vehicle as the main project in his design degree at the Royal College of the Arts in London. It landed him a dream job in the design department at Aprilia and maybe, just maybe, the adventurous company might build this excitement machine. With specs like that and a low aerodynamic profile, the hybrid would match any 1000cc superbike in performance and blow a Ferrari into the weeds. SJ X2000 - SJÆLLANDSBROEN

X 2000 is the brand name of Sweden's tilting 200 km/h high-speed train class X2, which is constructed by ADtranz and operated by SJ. It was launched in 1990 as a first-class only train with a meal included in the ticket price, and free use of the train's fax machine. There is a bistro on board that serves snack bar-style dishes. The trains were initially used sparingly to avoid breakdowns. From 1995 the trains were used more intensively and second class was introduced. The train's designated top speed is 210 km/h (but during a trial with double locomotive units in 1993 it reached 276 km/h), but the maximum allowed speed in regular traffic is 204 km/h (127 mph) since the signal system (and systems like the catenary) are not built for more for safety reasons, and as it shares the track with regular trains and as most of the lines it uses were built in the mid to late 19th century. The 19th century railways Stockholm-Göteborg/Malmö are relatively straight, since they were planned the shortest way without taking intermediate cities into account, and the landscape is relatively flat. Other 19th century railways are generally curvier. In comparison to other high-speed trains, the X2000 is not particularly fast; but compared to regular train services, it cuts journey time by about 25% - enough to make it competitive with airlines on many routes. It typically averages about 150 km/h (90 mph). The fastest part is Katrineholm - Skövde, a distance of 180 km (approximately 112 miles ...

SilentNight (OneShot : Part2)

8 years later . Nick pulled into the driveway of the school before opening the door and then slamming it shut. He leaned on the car door and stared at all the kids running out to meet their parents. Then there came Hope. He smiled. Her dark curls bounced up and down on her shoulders. The clip, holding her bangs up slipping as she rand as fast as she could. Her mocha brown orbs twinkling as she she screamed. "Daddy!" She laughed before hopping into his arms. He clasped his arms around her in a lock and held her tightly. "I missed you" She said. "Mmm, I missed you too" He mumbled in her hair before setting her down on the ground once more. "What did you do in school today?" He asked as he took her Dora book bag in his hands and opened the back door for her. She sat in as he made sure she buckled up, before closing the door, and sitting in the front seat. "ms. noris said that she dressed up just for you today" Hope said playing with her teddy bear. Her head tilting as she lifted one arm. Nick smiled lightly. "Is that so?" He asked, before turning out of the school parking lot. Hope nodded, before frowning. "yeah, but you didn't come in. She looked sad" Hope twisted her lips. Her pumpkin nose scrunching up lightly. "i'm sorry baby, but you know we had to get home early today remember?" He asked looking at her in the rearview mirror. "Yes I know, we're flying to aunt Demi's for Christmas vacation" Hope said as if she'd rehearsed it. "Right. and besides MRS. NORIS is married ...
