A good brush will last you a very very long time and are worth the expense. Are these worth the money? Yes. Can you get just as good brushes for less? Yes! Standout brushes are the Eyeshadow Brush (also for highlighting), Cream Foundation Brush (also good for powders) and the Blush Brush (also good for liquids and powders etc...) Brushes start from £35 and go up to £80 for the bronzer/powder brush. I believe that hakuhodo make Tom Ford brushes - and the quality is definitely there. If you can justify spending this amount of makeup brushes then you will not be disappointed. But please don't be thinking "oh i really really need these" because you can get great brushes at all prices. I bought these brushes myself, and received no discount on them, nor were any given to me free - damn it! Tom Ford. What can be said for a man with not only great looks but amazing taste. I suppose it was only a matter of time before he stepped into the world of cosmetics. Now, obviously being Tom Ford this was going to be an expensive item - but i didn't realise it would be THIS expensive. There is nothing wrong with quality - believe me. I like expensive things. A fine shirt. Amazing jeans. And sometimes its really worth it. This lipstick is a very good, solid lipstick but sadly does not warrant the high price tag. Granted it does have the longest list of ingredients i've ever seen for a lipstick though! Its huge! While its a nice purchase you can get the same, if not better from companies like MAC, BEN NYE, MAKE UP FOR EVER, DIOR, CHANEL etc... and still not pay this high price tag. If you haven't sent me a friend request on youtube - please do :) Shade and Illuminate is a contouring cream (creme) by Tom Ford - and is part of his new makeup collection line. Its the first time I've seen a contouring and highlighting cream in a LARGE beauty line (think bobbi brown, mac etc...) as most are powders. This is great news for me as i prefer to highlight and contour with creams (they look more natural to me). Both shades (1 and 2) both have a highlighter and contouring cream in both. 14g of product in total - which means its gonna take you a while to get through it! The light shade has no real visible shimmer yet really does give the skin a GLOW. Its moist and easy to apply but works best over un-powdered skin (though i have used it over powder and it did work remarkable well). The contour shade has a cool undertone (which is good as shadows tend to be grey!). They blend well and depending on how you apply them will dictate how "strong" the final look is. These compacts retail at £55 here in the UK. The Shade and Illuminate brush retails at £55 also, and while not "necessary" it really is a great brush and i'm glad i have it in my kit now. All in all for size and ability to preform (that greatly depends on if you really want to learn to contour and highlight?!?!) this product ranks up their with the best. Thank you for your time. ABOUT THE PRICE: 4 eyeshadows from Bobbi Brown (and palette) will cost you £73 for the same amount of product you get from Tom Ford. Or bought alone - will cost £62 - the same amount of money that Tom Ford costs - for the same amount of product - 2.5g. Expensive. Decadent. Lavish. Essential! This high high end makeup range blew me away with it's smooth textures, blend-able pigments and barely any fallout. It's rare for me to be blown away by this sort of high end offering but Tom ford has given us a glimpse of sheer brilliance. The eyeshadow shades are arranged into logical shades from matte to ultra grown up minimal fall out glitter that begs attention. The glitter is truly breathtaking and demands "look at my eyes"!. What I love best is the very edited down version. Nothing more than what you really need. 10 eyeshadow palettes. 6 blushes. 2 contour shades. Etc... It's well thought out. Each palette holds 10g of product and 2.5g each shadow. Gram for gram Chanel is more expensive. The matte eyeshadows blend beautiful as do the shimmers but it's the ultra glitter shades that wow. Minimal fallout and extreme adherence make these by far the most beautiful pressed glitter eyeshadow I've tried. Applied to the lower lid or brow bone thee shine, reflect and dance in the light. Each compact costs £62 and while I would have preferred a £50 price tag I do think these are worth the investment. Let's hope the Lauder group don't bastardise it by including too many products and <b>...</b>
