Finally, the first ride of the new kart. Better motor, better controller, more power. I won't rule out future tweaks and improvements, but this is the first time rubber hits the road. Update: Neurotikart 2 is powered by a D&D model ES-33 motor, which can be found at Electric Vehicles USA for about US$650. I'm sure there are other places, but I use EVUSA. The controller is an Alltrax model AXE-7234, which runs 72v and 300A. Final drive was originally chain and sprocket, but I've upgraded to toothed rubber belt, sort of like what's used on some motorcycles. The frame is primarily iron pipe, and the kart weighs about 500 lbs. The batteries are Optima Yellow Top D34, and there are six of them. The kart now has a functioning trailer hitch, and I've used it to pull about 1000 lbs of payload around (at low speed) for over two hours without recharging. The first motor on the Neurotikart 2 was a Perm PMG-132, which cost around $900. It burned up after less than 8 hours of service. Perm motors just can't take the heat. If you're interested in building a kart like this and using new (rather than used) motor and controller, plan on spending from US$3000 to over US$4000 in parts alone. It takes me about 2 months of my free time (evenings and weekends) to fabricate a kart. A cheaper and easier option would be to locate an existing gokart and convert it. The cost of bolt on parts like wheels, axles, and steering components adds up quickly, so an existing kart would provide a "running <b>...</b>

It's small and easy to conceal and it's a caliber that I prefer for personal defense. It shoots very accurately and the recoil is amazingly manageable for a gun it's size. All of these make for a very capable and concealable every day carry weapon. Gadget - This is not a toy and nothing on it classifies as a gadget. It's built for personal defense only and I focus entirely on that aspect for these types of weapons. Getaway - Give the broad range of available weapons. If conceal ability wasn't an important aspect for the survival situation there were be a great number of different weapons I would rather have with me. It would make a fine backup weapon if that was necessary but wouldn't be something I'd think of first unless size was the utmost importance.

You remember that Galaxy S II? A phone so good they launched it, well, a whole load of times. But after seeing phablet cousins and LTE variants, the true handset sequel is finally here. The Galaxy S III is moments away from being outed in front of journalists and Sammy's business partners in London, but in advance of the big reveal we were given a few hours to acquaint ourselves with the new star away from the crush of the show floor. And what did we make of it? In short, Samsung's tried to bring its Galaxy S series in line with (and in some ways, further ahead of) what its team-up with Google accomplished. It's added some new quad-core Exynos processing juice, a 4.8-inch, HD Super AMOLED screen and a handful of Galaxy S III-only features in an earnest bid to maintain its place at the top of the Android pile. At first blush, we were a little disappointed that Samsung didn't intend to push the design envelope with its new flagship. That's not to say we were repulsed: it just looks a lot like an amalgam of all the Galaxy phones we've seen in the last year. It flies closer to the Galaxy Nexus than the Galaxy S II, with a shape and contour all too similar to Google's first Android 4.0 handset. In the hand, the 4.8-inch screen is counter-balanced by the thin bezel, resulting in a shape that is still comfortable to hold. It feels very light, a mere 133g (4.7 ounces -- just a smidgen heavier than the HTC One X), and measures 8.6mm (0.34 inches) deep across its central waistline <b>...</b>

Hitlers stealth fighter Top stealth-plane experts have re-created a radical, nearly forgotten Nazi aircraft: the Horten 2-29, a retro-futuristic fighter that arrived too late in World War II to make it into mass production. The engineers' goal was to determine whether the so-called stealth fighter was truly radar resistant. In the process, they've uncovered new clues to just how close Nazi engineers were to unleashing a jet that some say could have changed the course of the war. To replicate the Ho 2-29 late last year for a documentary premiering Sunday, a team from the Northrop Grumman defence-contracting corporation used original Nazi blueprints and the only surviving Ho 2-29, which has been stored in a US government facility for more than 50 years. The all-wing Ho 2-29 looked more like today's US B-2 bomber - or something from a Star Wars prequel - than like any other World War II aircraft. Made primarily of wood and powered by jet engines, the plane was designed for speeds of up to 970 kilometres an hour (600 miles an hour). Armed with four 30mm cannons and two 500-kilogram (1100-pound) bombs, the planned production model was also meant to pack a punch. A Ho 2-29 prototype made a successful test flight just before Christmas 1944. But by then time was running out for the Nazis, and they were never able to perfect the design or produce more than a handful of prototype planes.
