One of the most dramatic stuff-ups in the history of Australian live television. Just before 9.30 tonight, Sarah Murdoch announced the winner of "Australia's Next Top Model". Unfortunately, she read out the wrong name. While Kelsey Martinovich was celebrating winning a car, a New York modelling contract, a $25000 ad campaign, $20000 cash and the cover of a national magazine, Sarah Murdoch's drop jopped, she brought her hand to her mouth, started tearing-up and was left speechless. The coin-drop moment for Sarah Murdoch is at the 2'32" mark. Of course there's a happy ending for one southeast Queensland woman, Amanda Ware, who was then awarded (all together now) a car, a New York modelling contract, a $25000 ad campaign, $20000 cash and the cover of a national magazine! America's Next Top Model Cycle 13 High Quality (HQ) Photos and Makeovers *SPOILERS* Episode 1: How Short Can You Go First aired September 9, 2009 For the first time, contestants under 5'7" are cast. They enter a room where they are supposedly being cast for Le Cycle 13, Fall Collection, but an actor tells them that they are too short, at which point Tyra enters and tells them 'it's time to break the mold'. Soon after they dress in model basics and are given a runway teach by Ms. J and have a face polaroid taken by Mr. Jay. Then comes castings. Memorable interviews include Courtney revealing she has a broken foot, modeling teacher Alison teaching Ms. J her own runway tricks, Lulu stating she is gay within seconds of her entrance and Sundai talking about her abusive childhood. During this time, Amber's personality and Nicole's lack thereof scare their fellow competitors. 20 girls are selected after the first cut and taken to a runway at the end of which they have to strike four poses. Courtney impresses Jay by soldiering on the entire runway instead of just posing. During the review, Tyra notes that many girls are posing in a more sexual than fashion way.
