Engine a OS 91 Surpass II 4 cycle with custom exhaust exits out the right side. Landing gears are Robart 90 degree pneumatic retracts with oleo struts. Full Bob Dively cockpit with sliding canopy. Working gear doors and detailed flaps. 65" wingspan. Covered with 3/4 oz. fiberglass resin.

The B-25 Mitchell by Top Flite! 88" Wing Span Twin OS .55 Nitro Motors Robart Air retracts On-board Glow (Not attached for this flight) My Maiden FLight! This baby really flys nice! I even Roll it during my maiden flight! At the end of my flight, I start making a couple of practice Landing Approaches to FEEL the plane out for a smooth landing. On my 3rd approach, I like the flaps, the power setting and am ready to Go AROUND to make the Actual Landing! BUT!!!! When I hit the gas to go back up, the right motor stalls, it starts to Yaw Right, I kill the left motor, level off, keep the nose straight, yaw back to the left to avoid that big ol fence! Last minute, pull the nose up a bit, LAND on main gear first, TOUCH DOWN! TOTALLY SAFE! NOT A SCRATCH, NOT A GUN OUT OF PLACE!!!! I replay the emergency landing again at half speed! Sooo Cool! This is my old Red Box Top Flite F8F Bearcat that I used to fly in the 1980's. I have rebuilt it as Rare Bear as it looked at Reno 1985. Original wingspan 60". New span 51"- Rare Bear had clipped wings. I have blocked out the flaps too, as Rare Bear has. Power is a K&B 1.00 glow two stroke. Robart air retracts. wieght; 10.5 pounds. Glassed and painted with Klasskote. It uses 5 Channels. Filmed at the Sepulveda Basin in Los Angeles May 21, 2010.

I wanted to take the plane back up for a second flight to get more of a feel for how she flies. So with her fueled up and ready to go I taxied back out the runway, pointed her into the wind, and opened the engines up. When she reached speed I lifted off the runway. One thing that I noticed right away this flight is that as it's lifted off the runway everything feels just a little bit mushy. But as the landing gear comes up and the gear doors close the plane cleans up and starts flying nicely. The plane is only mushy for a little bit and as long as the pilot is expecting it there is nothing to worry about with it. But once the plane has cleaned up and started flying there are no more issues. At this point the throttles can be pulled back and the plane will respond nicely. My second flight was done pretty much as the first. Top Flite P51 with a DLE20cc, Stuffed in, and i do mean stuffed in, Take your time on the throttle setup. I used a long 4/40 rod threaded on engine side, and connected it to a dubro quick disconect and ball link. Use the throttle exstension from the DLE20 as well. Some real funky bends but it works great. And turn the carb 180 degrees so the connection will be on the top of motor. Spark plug side. Also open up throttle stop all the way, so all fine tuning can be made from your transmitter. You will not want to take the the motor out to do this later. If you can't get your idle low enough !!!! Live and learn. New Jtec pitts on the way. This muffler will fit perfect in the cowl. Prop im using is the Warbird edition 16x8 from Xoar.

PART 2. Second Flight. This P-40 is probably about 20 years old. It was made by Topflight. Gregg's Dad had it hanging from the ceiling for about 15 years. Gregg decided it was time to see the old plane fly again and converted it to electric. He took out a HP 61. This flying with a 5 Cell 3000 20 C Lipo. This is Part 1 of 2. Gregg did a great job with the conversion and flying the maiden flight. It was quite a privaledge and very exciting to watch and video the flights!! Bud

Maiden flight of my Top-Flite Elder. She is powered by a Magnum .52 four stroke. The flight took place at the Evergreen Air Museum flying field located in McMinnville, Oregon. The plane flew very easily with only a few clicks of right aileron trim necessary. The Magnum .52 ran beautifully after being broken in by the book and run with a generous amount of castor oil.

Hi Everyone I finally got a chance to run the engines up, we had to fix a few things, the fuel lines need adjustment, a prop chance was in order from the 12x8's to the 12X6's and the glow system needed to be adjustment.
