Monopoly Rarity Toy Review by Mike Mozart on TheToyChannel Before Parker Brothers Secured the Rights to the Monopoly Game that "Charles Darrow" created. Mr. "Charles B. Darrow" had worked for two years trying to produce and sell the Game Himself! The Famous Earlier Tokens the Old Shoe, The BattleShip, Top Hat, Handbag, Canon, Flat Iron were actually from a series of "Cake Favor" "Fortune Telling Sets" by Cosmo, and later by Drowst/Tootsietoy Manufacturing ( These were Before Rocking Horse, Horse with Rider, Race Car, Scotty Dog, Wheelbarrow were added) It's well known that Charles Darrow got the idea from Crude versions of the Landlords game, however Charles Darrow created the Magic that has survived for almost 80 years without change. I'll show in future videos that Monopoly's timeless (but Crude) well loved artwork of the JAIL, Go to Jail, the Train, Question Mark and Free Parking were by actually drawn by Darrow because he didn't want to pay the artist the 3 dollars per drawing to make nicer, more professional ones. Charles Darrow actually DID invent another Board Game dated 1934 that he must have never shown to Parker Brothers. This unique Board Game ( Totally unrelated to Monopoly) was very clever. I can find no reference online, so it must be a one of a kind, hand drawn sample.
