WATCH IN 480P! --------- Information and Boss Guide in Description --------- This is me fighting the first boss in the Ventus story line of Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. The boss is a giant tree called Mad Treant. My difficulty is Proud Mode. I was level 2 for this fight. Here's a short boss guide; Even though he's only the first boss in Ventus's story, this guy can be quite tough. He has 2 phases: his first phase, in which he does a melee swing, drop poison puddles, cause explosions on the ground, shoot a bunch of rockets and jump in the air, creating a shockwave upon landing. If you run over one of the poison puddles, you get poisoned, which drains your health so avoid those. He will occasionally fling all the things hanging from his branches around which explode, and they hurt REALLY bad so make sure you aren't near him when he does it. I found that the easiest way to avoid the shockwave from his jump is to jump and use a single regular attack while he's in the air, then wait for him to fall to continue attacking. He'll also make some small explosions on the ground; these are easy enough to avoid if you keep running. Use your Shotlock when he's stunned. When you get through his first health bar and about half of his 2nd, he will turn black. This means he's in phase 2; he will now shoot giant rocks at you which cast a shadow. use your dash roll to avoid these. His jump seems unaffected. When he does the ground explosions, he does it a lot quicker so stay on your toes <b>...</b>

Thanks to the map by psylense on Gamefaqs, I was able to locate where all the good treasures were in the Depths of the Treant Forest (optional dungeon in Treant Forest after you've been to the final dungeon once). If you didn't know, the Treant Depths is filled with tons of treasure, mostly cheap gummis and food items you can just buy, but there are some of the best items in the game hidden really well underneath the scenery. However, many chests in the forest are "linked", if you open one, another in the forest disappears. Even so, by using the map, I was able to get all the good treasures without missing any if I didn't open any other chests, so this leads me to believe all the cheap stuff is meant to "trap" you into losing out on the worthwhile treasures.

This match features Maokai the Twisted Treant. I was finally able to pick him up Thursday morning due to nonsense with the shop and patches and what not and I really enjoy him. He's very beefy and does respectable damage although I think his abilities need a bit of tweaking as they scale pretty badly compared to other champions. Summary of abilities Arcane Smash - Moderate damage in a short line that can knock back enemies close to Maokai which interrupts their attack Twisted Advance - Maokai Teleports to the targets location and roots them in place and deals substantial damage Sapling Toss - Maokai tosses a tiny treeman to grant line of site to an area. The sapling will also chase down enemies and detonate for aoe damage. Vengeful Maelstrom - Aoe damage reduction for team that does damage based on how much damage it absorbs to anyone inside the circle when it ends.

They reach the Dell of the Dreamer area where something that looks like a harmless grassy mound comes to life and attacks. It's time to fight the Elder Wyrm. Just like Terra's story, you can consider this the first real boss. This one is actually a little easier than Terra's, but you still can't get hit much unless you leveled up a little. *Overview* The good news is unlike Terra's Wheel Master boss, this boss' attacks can all be dodged very consistently. *Restrictions* No Damage No D-Link No Shotlock *Stats* Level: 2 HP: 39/39 Keyblade: Wayward Wind Strength: 6 Magic: 5 Defense:5 Battle Commands: Quick Blitz Poison Strike Raid Mini Fire Action Commands: Jump Block Dodge Roll *Difficulty* 1/5 *Strategy* The boss has pretty predictable patterns. You just have to know when not to attack so you don't get killed in one hit. The boss will do these moves early on: 1. The boss will jump up 3 times, similar to Wheel Master. If you jump before he lands you won't get hit, though you can Guard as well. If you time it well, you can get a full 3 hit combo on the boss in between jumps. Be careful not to do a Finish Command at a bad time. 2. Boss will shake out a bunch of explosives that scatter randomly around the area. Best way to avoid this is to just back off fast. Dodge Roll spam away to be safe and wait for it to finish. 3. The boss will dig into the ground and create earth attacks on your position. Dodge by moving. Can be guarded, but won't always work. 4. Boss may stomp with its roots one after another. Just stay away from this, too risky if you don't wanna get hit to try to attack in between. Later on, the boss will do a couple <b>...</b>
