Hawaii Ironman Triathlon 2011 World Championships

The, Hawaii Ironman 2011 World Championship triathlon race in Kona, Hawaii, brought about some of the toughest and strongest mentally focused athletes in the world to race over 140 miles distance in some some of the most outrageous terrain imaginable. We wanted to produce this short video clip to inspire people, period. The discipline and determination, mental focus, physical fitness and positive mental attitude that it takes to compete in a race like this, brings out many of the top qualities that human beings are capable of. And to us, that is worth sharing with the world. This year we wanted to focus on the biomechanics of the professionals in this race, and the "story" of the race. It was a great year, the men's world record was broken by Craig Alexander and Chrissie Wellington finished 20 minutes behind the first leader, after the bike, and still managed to run down all of her competition to come in first. Not all of us are cut out to be world class triathletes, but we sure can admire all of the qualities that it takes to get there. After watching this race, you will want to get your running shoes on, and we suggest that you do, after all your health is your wealth. We were fortunate enough to be allowed to use Peter Bergmann's remix of Hans Zimmer,Time, for the music, you can find this download at www.facebook.com www.TriAddict.com TriAddict

Training 24/7 The Life of a Triathlete

We created this video which cronicles my training for St. Croix 70.3 starting in November 2007. I knew in February I would be giving a talk to some elementary school students to introduce them to triathlon, sports nutrition and what it means to have faith in yourself and your dreams. This video really brought my training to life for them. Not only did the kids love the video, I can now say it was all worth it. I traveled to St. Croix in May of 2008 and placed first in my age group of 25-29 females. I qualified and competed in the Hawaii Ironman World Championships on October 10, 2008. I was blessed to have a great day and in my first ironman I finished in a time of 10 hours 58 mins, 9th female in the world in the 25-29 age group. As a registered dietitian, I now have my own Sports Nutrition Counseling business called Fuel Your Passion. If you would like to contact me please go to my website www.fuelyourpassion.net. You can also follow my blog at www.fuelyourpassiononline.blogspot.com. I offer nutrition counseling for athletes, as well as coaching services. Please check out my Kona Video for a follow up to this video! Take care and best of luck in your future endevors!

Ironman Triathlon Motivation

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.

"Triathlon to me isn't just a race, Triathlon is a lifestyle" This is how I train for a Triathlon. I find that having grit is more important than having talent in this sport or anything in life. Hybrid Vs Triathlon

What you see here is the finale of the competition that developed between us. I have no idea who the rider was but we'd been swapping places for about 6 or 7 miles by this point. Each time he'd get ahead by forcing a path through stopped traffic and each time I'd catch him again, usually waiting at the next light to be fair but I'd be gaining on him before he stopped. He liked his high gears too, so each time we set off he didn't stand a chance if we were together. So here then, is the final section. I've reached the lights first and chosen a place to wait behind some traffic. He's decided to press on through, weaving across all the lanes in the process. I know this is it. There are no more traffic lights. It's just us against each other on the open road. Having already studied his style, I was pretty confident I'd close the gap and it wasn't long before I was sitting on his rear wheel. Sure he had the lighter bike, he'd already shown me that on a climb a few miles back but I was able to wait for the perfect moment to move ahead and stay there. His TT bike with aero bars and all that was dropped by my pannier toting hybrid. Very satisfying! :)

Triathlon - Ironman World Championship Hawaii 2010 - Part 1/3 - HD 720p - Coverage

The Ironman World Championship has been held annually in Hawaii since 1978, with an additional race in 1982. It is owned and organised by the World Triathlon Corporation and is currently sponsored by Ford. It is the annual culmination of a series of Ironman triathlon qualification races held throughout the world. From 1978 through 1980 the race was held on the island of Oahu, the course combining that of three events already held there: the Waikiki Roughwater Swim (2.4 mi./3.86 km), the Around-Oahu Bike Race (115 mi./185.07 km, originally a two-day event), and the Honolulu Marathon. In order to link the end of the bike stage to the start of the marathon course, the bike stage was reduced by 3 miles. In 1981 the race was moved to the less urbanized Big Island, keeping the distances the same: a 2.4 miles (3.86 km) open water swim in Kailua-Kona Bay, a 112 miles (180.25 km) bike ride across the Hawaiian lava desert to Hāwī and back, and a marathon (26 miles 385 yards, 42.195 km) run along the coast of the Big Island from Keauhou to Keahole Point and back to Kailua-Kona, finishing on Aliʻi Drive. Since 1982 the race has been held in the fall each year, before which it was held in the spring, giving two races in 1982. The most recent Ironman World Championship took place on October 8, 2011. Qualifying for the World Championship is achieved through placement in one of the other Ironman races or some Ironman 70.3 races. The current Ironman Hawaii course record was set in 2011 by ...

NICE Ironman Triathlon 2011 Part 1

This video contains french and english commentary combined with crowd participation noise to give the live atmosphere. Look carefully for the one-legged cyclist ( presumably he did the run with a prosthesis ) and the warm response for the athlete who stopped his race briefly for a kiss and cuddle (not quite visible due to the crowd) before continuing. Sorry i missed the swim start in a prime position but the last swimmers were easier to video and the commentary was very appropriate for them. It was announced that there were 2210 athletes and 1500 volunteers.
