Ocean tug Abeille Bourbon in very bad weather rescue mission - Mer d'Iroise en.wikipedia.org Abeille Bourbon is a high seas salvage tug, 80 metres long with a tractive power of 200 tonnes, a crew of 12, designed by Norwegian naval architect Sigmund Borgundvaag. It was baptised by Bernadette Chirac on 13 April 2005 in the presence of its sponsor Jacques de Chateauvieux. It is based in Brest, France. Abeille Bourbon is owned by Abeilles International, a unit of Groupe Bourbon. The crew is made up of sailors of the merchant marine. It is chartered to the French government and can be called upon by the Maritime Prefect of Brest at any time. The Abeille Liberté is a sister ship of Abeille Bourbon.

TUGS - Munitions - Part. 1
Reuploaded (For purposes of better quality and this is the actual version not one I edited in Movie Maker to add elements from the original version!) The towing of Naval munition vessels is a very important job indeed. One such vessel in particular, a tramper named Kraka toa, is being towed by Hercules. All is fine until Bluenose, the Navy tug, comes along. Uppity Bluenose says that Hercules may not continue on until he has made an inspection. Hercules steams off, finished with the run, ignoring him. Hercules speaks to OJ, who tells him how munitions and fuel are being loaded aboard the same ship, which is very dangerous. Bluenose comes by, still being overbearingly bossy, before moving on to bothering the Fire Chief too. At the Star Pier, Captain Star informs the tugs they will be carrying munitions for the Navy the Z Stacks having the explosives! Warrior is given garbage detail, Top Hat is to transport car floats, Ten Cents is sent to Luckys Yard to pick up oil to take to the Naval yard and Sunshine is to pick up Mighty Moe, to take home. Captain Star thanks Big Mac for winning the steel contract, and tells him to collect the last girder barge. The Z Stacks, meanwhile, are picking up the explosives, which are to be delivered to the Naval tramper, Kraka toa. Ten Cents, now with the oil barge, is ordered about by Bluenose, who says to move out of the way. Bluenose purposely scrapes the barge, which makes Ten Cents very cross indeed. Night falls. Paul's thirteenth "solo" album release, and almost two years after "McCartney II". With "Ebony and Ivory" doing so well in the singles chart, the timely release meant that the album entered the LP chart straight into the highest position. After two weeks it had sold 20000 copies in the UK and had passed the 100000 sales mark before August. It remained in the chart for over 6 months. The production of "Tug Of War" spanned a year and a half, starting in October 1980, and not being completed until March 1982. During this period, on 27th April 1981, it was officially announced that Denny had left the group, and that Wings had disbanded. High seas salvage tug Abeille Flandre in very bad weather - Iroise Sea - Mer d'Iroise en.wikipedia.org The Abeille Flandre is a high sea tug of the French Navy. She is the property of the French private company Abeilles International, and had been operated by the French Navy since December 1979. She had previously been based in Brest, where she assisted traffic off the coast of Bretagne. The Abeille Flandre could set out with a 20-minute warning, or whenever winds in excess of 25 knots (46 km/h) were recorded in Ouessant. She was replaced at this station in April 2005 by the more powerful, 80-metre Abeille Bourbon. The Abeille Flandre is now based in Toulon on the Mediterranean. French rescue tugs on government contracts operate under orders of the préfet maritime. If the salvage is successful, the French state earns half the value of the salvaged cargo. When the vessels are not required for government service, operators of can request of the préfet that they be released to perform private salvage and rescue missions. Rates for private salvages are negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Fees are never charged to rescue people. The Abeille Flandre is famous and popular in France for her role after the sinkings of the Erika and the Ievoli Sun. Hervé Hamon wrote an homage in his book L'Abeille d'Ouessant. Abeille Flandre sports the angled blue-white-red stripes of the ships of the public services at sea on her sides.
