If you've got an ounce of mechanical sympathy you're going to want to look away because when Mick Brasher starts throwing his supercharged V8 powered Corolla in reverse at full revs all you can do is wait for it all to come unstuck. But amazingly it doesn't. Rather than penalising Mick, the judges awarded him top points and the overall win at Kandos. Is this a routine that we're going to see more of? We'll see if the transmission holds out.

One thing to note with the burnout pad is that it seemed to let the tyres last a whole lot longer than normal. Most of the cars seemed to be out on the pad alot longer than they normally would. After coming second last year everyone was expecting big things from Mick Brasher and from the very start he was looking to deliver.
