Afghanistan massacre - American soldiers have had enough of the wars?

As prosecutors officially charge the US soldier accused of massacring 17 Afghan civilians, what's really going on trial? One deranged soldier or the entire Afghanistan war? Apparently, this is not just a story of an appalling crime, but also one of a US soldier who has had enough of all the endless wars America is envolved in. So, to broaden the story and to talk more about some of those aspects, that the mainstream media is currently missing on, Neil Shea, a journalist and writer joins RT's Kristine Frazao. Afghanistan: US troops defile the dead on camera.....

From: Russia Today US troops defile dead Afghans on camera Published: 12 January, 2012, 02:58 An eye-opening video clip that made it online Wednesday may cause a scandal on par with what erupted with the Abu Ghraib photographs of 2004. Now US Marines have been caught on film - urinating on dead Afghans. A 40-second excerpt of the clip has managed to made its web to the Web and in it viewers can watch four US Marines on patrol in Afghanistan allegedly urinating on the corpses of deceased Afghan men. It is unclear of the victims' identities in this incident, but according to a note included with the uploaded file, the US servicemen were members of the Marine Scout Sniper Team 4 and the 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The group was dispatched to the northern Helmand Province in Afghanistan during the summer of 2011. A clip of US troops urinating on Afghans in civilian clothes shocked the Internet on Wednesday. Ten years after beginning military operations in Afghanistan, the US military still maintains an active presence there, making it the longest continuous war in American history. President Obama has vowed to bring back troops in full by 2014, but this event could cause widespread outrage against the military operation, with the latest incident increasing tensions unmatched since the Abu Ghraib scandal of years' past. Earlier in the War on Terror, American troops were caught grossly mishandling prisoners at the Abu Ghraib detention facility ...

The Moment US Apache Helicopter Crashes In Afghanistan

A US Army AH-64 Apache gunship crashed in Marzak, Afghanistan, in restive Paktika province along the border with Pakistan. The incident, captured in the video above, illustrates the dangers of aggressive, low-level flying in a part of Afghanistan where US troops are almost entirely dependent on airplanes and helicopters for resupply and fire support. US troops deployed to Marzak in January at the invitation of local elders. The Americans' goal: to train up a local police force capable of defending the isolated town from Taliban fighters. The crash occurred in February, our colleague Leo Shane from Stars and Stripes tells us. The Apache is shown flying low over the main US outpost at a former boys' school. The helicopter dips too low, bounces off the outpost's snow-covered landing zone and spins wildly, narrowly missing several people before slamming into the ground near the Americans' secondary outpost at a neighboring girls' school. No one was killed, according to the video description, but the copter crew supposedly could face criminal charges. The girls' school is just a stone's throw from "downtown" Marzak. It appears that if the Apache had bounced a few more times, it could have struck several homes and potentially hurt or killed a bunch of people. There's a lot of low-level flying over Marzak. All soldiers come and go by helicopter. Supplies are sling-loaded by copters or airdropped from 150 feet. Air Force F-15Es often orbit overhead when the outpost's soldiers go ...

American Soldier Allegedly Kills 16 Afghans, Taliban Vows Revenge

In the wake of an alleged brutal attack by an American soldier that left 16 Afghan civilians dead and burned on Sunday, the Taliban has vowed revenge against NATO forces. The shootings of mostly women and children took place in Sunday's pre-dawn hours in Kandahar province, when an Army staff sergeant allegedly left his southern Afghanistan base and went into homes of nearby villages Balandi and Alkozai, executing families while they slept. NATO leaders said an investigation was under way and that a suspect was in custody, but would not confirm the number of civilians killed. President Hamid Karzai said the "intentional killing of innocent civilians" could not be forgiven. A Taliban website vowed revenge against "sick-minded American savages," and negotiations between the al-Qaida-linked militant group and the Afghan government were halted. The attacks come in an already bad year for NATO-Afghan relations; last month the country erupted in protests after US troops burned Qurans and other holy books in a trash incinerator.

TALIBAN ATTACK on US SOLDIERS AFGHANISTAN

But the incoming fire on US Combat Outpost Pirtle King is very accurate. Then, four massive airstrikes, as US jets strafe the hills. The Taliban falls silent. The next morning, it starts again - mortars and RPGs pound the base, and for the second time in 24 hours the base is under attack. On Afghanistan's eastern border, Kunar Valley is vital strategically. If the Americans leave, militants from Pakistan will flow through the valley. If they stay, then every few days, attacks like those on Tuesday and Wednesday happen.

Opium fields guarded by US troops in Afghanistan

Geraldo on Fox covers how we have to guard the poppies so al-CIA-da gets the opium and not Al-queda. The CIA is selling the opium in China, Russia, and Iran. They get the double benefit of funding their black operations, and also destabilization of the cultural cohesion of political adversaries. Sound familiar, it should. Research the Chinese Opium wars to see how Anglo central bankers use this strategy so well, and for so long now. Remember, kids, don't do the bankers drugs. Ever wondered if bankers own the prison systems? And the mercenary armies? And the top stripes of the standing armies (ouch)? And of course Congress, president, and almost everything you see, hear, or read. Ever wonder who Jaime Diamond or Loyd Blankfein answer to? Who owns the controlling shares in the private Federal Reserve Bank? Funding both sides of every war and conflict sure must be good business. Ensuring reasonable causation for war, as a hedge to ensure losing parties pay up, is also good business. Imagine funding a group to stage an attack or an incident so that you can benefit from the timing by offering an even somewhat plausible, preplanned response that gives you power and money. Wow, it seems like just maybe the central bankers are the same bankers that own Wall street. (Bernie Madoff was the inventor of the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, but he isn't the the inventor of debt slavery!) August 2011 was Deadliest Month for US Troops in Afghanistan

More American soldiers died in August 2011 in the war in Afghanistan than any other month of the conflict. Sixty-six American service members was the total lost last month--nearly half of whom perished when the Taliban brought down a Chinook helicopter, killing 30. The US figures are only a tiny fraction of the overall deaths in Afghanistan, in which civilians make up the largest percentage. 1733 US soldiers have died in Afghanistan since the war's inception nearly 10 years ago. Tony Shaffer, a lieutenant-colonel in the US army who wrote a book about the war, Operation Dark Heart - which was partially censored by the Pentagon - said: "What August tells us in there is a huge disconnect between the Pentagon and troops on the ground. The bottom line is we need a reckoning of propaganda coming out of the Pentagon and the reality of what is going on in Afghanistan." Many experts are now coming to the conclusion that the US is pursuing the same failed strategy as the Russians back in the '80s.
