The film dramatizes activities at an air force base following nuclear attack, reviews status of the base and its operational capability to survive. The film emphasizes hardening process of base for battle and shows medical personnel assisting in exposure control and treating patients. USAF Thunderbirds Ground Show, Aerial Performance, Return 2009 AirPower Over Hampton Roads Langley AFB, Virginia Sunday April 26, 2009 IN THIS VIDEO, I have combined the Thunderbirds' ground show, aerial performance, and their return to Langley AFB all in one video. You will see the Thunderbirds performing a high show over Langley AFB in their new Block 52 F-16s, as well as a completely revamped flying display, as immediately as the team gets off the ground, they really put the F-16s into their own place. The Pratt & Whitney F100-229 also produces a different pitch in engine sound, which you can clearly pick out in the video. To me, it is reminiscent of the GE F110s that the Block 30, 40, 50, and 60 F-16s have. I had to edit out a lot of the return video because I had to recover some of my belongings that were about to take a twelve-foot plunge from the bleachers (it was only my bag of water). USAF B53 Nuclear Bombs Being Disassembled After Being In Service Since The Cold War In 1962
AviationExplorer.com - The last of the nation's most powerful B53 nuclear bombs are being disassembled nearly half a century after it was put into service during the Cold War. The bomb was put into service in 1962. The B53 was 10000 pounds and was the size of a minivan. It was 600 times more powerful than the atomic bomb dropped on Japan, killing as many as 140000 people and helping end World War II. The B53 was designed to destroy facilities deep underground and it was carried by the boeing B-52 bomber. The B53's disassembly ends the era of big megaton bombs. The bombs' size helped compensate for their lack of accuracy. Today's bombs are smaller but more precise, reducing the amount of collateral damage. Since the B53 was made using older technology by engineers who have since retired or died, developing a disassembly process took time. Engineers had to develop complex tools and new procedures to ensure safe disassembly. Many of the B53s were disassembled in the 1980s, but a significant number remained in the arsenal until they were retired from the stockpile in 1997.

USAF Thunderbirds Aerial Performance 2011 AirPower Over Hampton Roads Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia Saturday May 14, 2011 With the skies that were available at the time, the Thunderbirds took off set to fly a high show performance, and they actually looked REALLY GOOD up until the high-low hit, when they were forced to transition from a high show to the flat show. Yes, that's how fast the sky conditions deteoriated. A weather warning for high winds, heavy rain, and hail was also put up at the end of their performance, which makes sense considering the sky conditions. It's truly a shame because their high show routine has changed from the 2010 routine. I apologize for the black or white blips in the video, as I have yet to figure out what causes it. This film was produced by the United States Air Force in the late 1950's for internal training purposes however it has now been declassified. The film depicts a simulated war plan action, in the event of an attack, which was executed at the Operation Control Room, Offutt Air Force Vase, Nebraska, and at the underground control room (location still classified), by the Strategic Air Command. Footage includes pilots and ground crewmen scrambling; pilots boarding aircraft; B-47's, B-52's, and B-58's taxiing, taking off, maneuvering, and landing; and a KC-135 refueling a B-52. Also included are scenes of the launching of the Bull Goose, Rascal, Snark, and Thor missiles.
