"Xtricate" is a game created for the CSC 4263 Video Game Design class at LSU. Together with students from UIC ( in Chicago,IL) enrolled in the same class we designed and created and this game using the Unity Engine version 3.3. We competed against 10 other teams and managed to take away the Best Gameplay and overall game award after being judged by a panel of video game industry professionals. Xtricate is an multiplayer puzzle adventure game where two players assume the role of rats that have just escaped from their cages in a giant laboratory. The players must avoid traps, solve puzzles, and fight enemies to finally escape. Players must escape the current room by finding the access card before the timer runs out or a robotic cat sentry will attack you. Normal attacks won't work on these foes so you must use your limited supply of traps to dispatch them. This game was created in its entirety in slightly less than two months. An extra constraint was that we make use of a Quad HD resolution display and Xbox controllers. This video of the game was taken at a lower resolution and on a personal computer using the keyboard.
