Actor Johann Urb of the ABC show Eastwick and the new Roland Emmerich film 2012 was the 100th guest on Filmnut with host Jeff Schubert! Yes we covered those projects. In addition, Urb is originally from Estonia and having grown up in Finland, Urb shared some rich life experiences and philosophy that form the foundation of his acting work and perspectives on life. But lest you think this episode was too deep, we also talked about a couple of indie films, one called Pornstar in which he produces and stars in (to be released on DVD soon) and a hilarius comedy called Strictly Sexual. Beans live at URB party, Pt. 1
From URB magazine's long-running multi-city parties, this was last Thursday night at the Hiro Ballroom in New York City. Amidst chants of "Don't hurt 'em" and stares from lovely hip-hop ladies trying to make contact, the beardless, fearless Beans rocked iBook beats and two mic stands, tearing through songs old and new. This was one of those raw-but-smooth ciphers you see from dedicated cats who been doin' it on their own for a minute. His day-glo shirt and stripped-down approach had us feeling like we were in a proper DIY basement club circa 1987 -- and that's a good thing. You also gotta love the hip-hop nerd-set doing their funky lil' Charlie Brown dance moves...Michael Vazquez, URB.
