Last week, I made my way from my home in Bedstuy to LES to chat with video director/clothing designer Va$htie Kola otherwise known as Downtowns Sweetheart. While sitting with Va$htie in the living room of her quaint apartment, it was quite obvious that the director who pretty much has her finger on the pulse of everything from shooting videos to throwing parties, likes to keep inspiration close. Her bookshelf said it allI counted at least two Andy Warhol books, not including the coffee table book on her floor, cinematography books aplenty, not to mention an impressive amount of antique cameras. Its no wonder why shes such a creative. So for the sake of it all, lets just call her a visionary. For all the hats Va$htie wears, no one title would suffice.
