I will never forget Liz Triangle, and lily-an's divine voice. Never. Liz Triangle, with their "White Lotus" album, stole my heart mercilessly and from then on I became a fan of theirs. I always think that vocals can be a double edged sword, when the vocalist is good and she/he (or even it, in a vocaloids' case) goes in harmony with the rest of the instruments, that's when the power of vocals truly shine. But, on the other hand, if you have somebody with a voice that isn't made for singing, or if the instruments and the vocalist just don't complement each other, the whole song will fail, horribly. As easy as you may think it is, it's actually pretty hard to find good vocalists. Fortunately, and really fortunately, in Touhou arranges there are a set number of circles that really know how to do their job in vocals, that is what I've tried to demonstrate with the previous uploads, there was even a Yellow Zebra song in there, a circle known for their J-poppish/techno arranges, and IOSYS (there are a lot of others, like SYNC. ART'S, SOUND HOLIC, I won't list them all, but you catch my drift). And now, Liz Triangle. From the 1995 album "Volume 2 - Tierra Tradicional" Africando represents a cross-cultural collaboration between top-ranked, New York-based, Latin musicians and African vocalists. The project was formed in 1990 and it united salsa musicians with Senegalese vocalists. Musicians from other African countries were later included under the name Africando All Stars. While lyrics are sung in Yoruba, Wolof, Mandigo and French, the group's sizzling-hot dance rhythms blend classic mambo, Cuban son and mandigo traditions. Africando was initially drawn together by producers Ibrahima Sylba and Boncana Maiga. The group's debut album, Trovodor, released in 1993, featured the vocals of West Senegalese singers Pape Seck, Medoune Diallo and Nicolas Manheim. Although Seck passed away shortly after the album's release, the band continued to grow. By the time that they recorded their second album, Tierra Tradicional, released in 1995, the group's vocals were shared by Tabu Ley Rochereau of Zaire, Bambino Diabete of Guinea, Gnonnas Pedro of Benin and original vocalist, Diallo. "Moliendo Café" is a song by Venezuelan composer Hugo Blanco. It was composed in 1958, when Blanco was 18 years old. Blanco's version hit #1 in Argentina in 1961. Lena Chamamyan Was born in Damascus city where she finished her elementary and secondary education through which she held many school concerts. The first of which she held at the age of five. She started to studying music at the age of nine, she graduated from the economics management department at Damascus University in 2002. while she was studying at the higher institution of music in Damascus , she graduated as a classical vocalist in 2007. Throughout her university education, she joined many workshops in the field of classic music with Gloria Skalki (Italy ) Karmen Filarna ( Italy ) Mia bits ( Netherlands ). She also joined Jazz workshops, most importantly, with the German Accordionist ( Manfred leuschter ).this resulted in lena and Manfred featured on each others albums and many concerts in Syria and Germany . She also worked with many vocalists and musicians of different nationalities in many jazz festivals in Syria. The idea of the project was born before Lena started to study music academically. Classic was mixed with oriental jazz and Armenian music to reflect the unique essence of Lena's style as a vocalist. She was charmed from the very beginning by the idea of mixing simple oriental tunes with cords. Many friend from the high institution of music helped Lena understand and conceptualize the project the first of whom was Basel Rajoub who arranged the music and managed the progect. Electric Dirt (Dirt Farmer Music/Vanguard Records) is the second album in the last two years from American musical treasure Levon Helm.
