The amazing local children's celebrity, Fred Kirby in a retrospective tribute on WBTV. Fred hosted a Saturday morning cartoon show for umpteen years with his featured sidekick Uncle Jim MaHaffey. Fred channeled Roy Rogers as he sang folk songs, Sons of the Pioneers songs, as well as his own composition "How We Love The Li'l Rascals", a series he featured as well. He had an amazing ablitiy to play a solid rhythm and sing freely as though someone else was playing. He also had a great heart in appearing at events for severely disabled children such as York County Fair's Disabilities Day. Sons of the Pioneers fans will especially enjoy the mini-segment of "Skyball Paint"

Gilani has been linked to Jamaat ul-Fuqra. It got its start about 20 years ago in the Catskills mountains within Hancock New York, when — inspired by the words of the Sufi cleric, a group of primarily black Muslims from Brooklyn left New York City to escape crime, poverty and racism. Aiming to lead what they believed was a peaceful and holy Muslim life, they built a community of some 40 family houses, their own grocery store and a bookstore. And they weren't alone. Other groups, also inspired by Gilani, have set up similar communities in 19 other states. According to the group's own Web site, the Islamberg community is still "struggling," and is asking for donations to complete its mosque. According to locals, the land previously belonged to a Deposit, NY, woman who opened up her home in the in the late 1970s or early '80s to disadvantaged youths from the city so that they could avoid being led astray by a financially and morally bankrupt urban environment. Combined sign-off and sign-on clips in one file. The two clips were recorded on different occasions during the summer of 1989. The sign-off is preceded by a WBTV News promo clip featuring Sarah James. The sign-off and sign-on clips features various clips of WBTV personalities both past and current at the time this clip was produced. The clip of the guy in front of an ancient weather map dates from the 1960s, judging from the skinny necktie the weatherman, Clyde "Cloudy" McLean, is wearing. The other weatherman featured is Mike McKay, who had a wonderful late-night TV nostalgia show on WBTV in the 1970s called Those Were The Years. The cowboy with the guitar was Fred Kirby, who hosted the Little Rascals Club and other children's shows on Channel 3 for five decades. His sidekick, "Uncle Jim", was long-time WBTV personality Jim Patterson, who presided over the station's initial sign-on in 1949. Kirby, Patterson and McLean are no longer among the breathing.
