WPDE at it's best, the 2001 Myrtle Beach tornadoes, one of which passed over the Weather Center located at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion at the time. During Hurricane Diana, this is an interesting glimpse into how we covered Hurricanes in the early 80s (Not so well)... we had no way to go live from Myrtle Beach back then so everything was phoners and yes believe it or not Ham Radio(watch and you will see).. At the time he recorded this he was attending North Carolina State University in Raleigh, which explains the fuzzy video and static-ridden audio.This WPDE-TV clip features lots of scrawling word graphics and a few video clips of the station's programming that was aired during the time of this video.
