A month ago, West Virginia senior Donovan Miles was getting ready to strap on the pads and his blue jersey. He was prepared to fight for playing time. Then, everything changed. The Mountaineers' coaching staff needed to move someone to the offensive side of the ball due to the departure of veteran fullback Matt Lindamood. Miles was right there to step up. Miles has jumped up to No. 2 on the depth chart and says he's thinking a lot less on offense than he was on defense. West Virginia sophomore running back Andrew Buie had an up-and-down freshman season. He struggled with injuries throughout, as he failed to understand which he could fight through and others that he needed to talk with trainers about. Despite that, he was still able to step up in Dustin Garrison's place with he went down with a knee injury prior to the Orange Bowl. Buie started the game and provided a spark including an eye-catching play in which he stayed on his feet following a tough tackle in the first half. "That game was just a confidence builder for me. Last year, I was just learning the offense and had to play right away. I tended to play a little bit slower, because I didn't want to mess up," Buie said. "This year, it's the second year, we know everything that's going on and it allows me to play a whole lot faster." Read more at bluegoldnews.com.
