This started from a discussion, about e-learning in my university class, and how education would lose it's very important role to socialize people, but it's also a lesson for human kind.

The intro to WALL-E combines an image of a post-apocalyptic Earth with the post-war vocals of "Hello Dolly." It connects the post-apocalypse to the aesthetics of the 50s ("Hello Dolly" is actually from the 60s, but still), the period both of the birth of consumer society and of nuclear paranoia, an image reinforced by the subsequent 50s stylings of the Buy 'n' Large outlets we see a bit later. I'm intrigued as to why this is the style we still reach to, 60 or so years later, when we want to represent the end of the world.

Here is my redesigned robot now with no more modified parts, we coukd say he is now 'pure'. I have posted a prototype development video it is now available but it is 9min long so watch only if interested on how i made wall-e pure! ,, This is the best 'show me' video of all my Lego Wall-E NXT - it's wall-e at it's best - it no longer has modified lego gears - it has eyes featuring emotion moves - it runs an updated nxt-g program using the new PFE block for better PF motor control - it has no commercial music - and you don,t here me talking !! Visit www.ez-robot.com for more information on how to build your own Wall-E :D The original toy was a U-Command Wall-e that was modified. The tracks are driven by two modified servos. The arms, neck and head are controlled by standard servos. The camera is a 2.4ghz wireless camera. I put this all together with a hot glue gun, a dremel and a lot of inspiration from a great movie. My video does not due this Wall-E robot justice, his personality is far more interactive and humorous in real life. I may make a longer video another day :) ... He is definitely the star of the show!

www.dj-sures.com The store bought Wall-e's don't cut it when you're looking for the real thing. I purchased a toy and added my own servos, sensors and brain. The programming uses 2D enviromental array for knowing his surroundings, which prevents him from getting stuck. His personality animates his character and he seems somewhat life-like. His sensors interact and sometimes run from humans.. Othertimes he seeks company. It all depends on his mood. He's my pet and friend :) The end of the video lists the components I used.
