This is a project that was put on display at Tokyo Designers Week2011. In this plan, we extracted; the state of "UTSUROI" of nature, and"UTSUROI" made by various angles of view of the observer, as phenomena. By doing so, we attempted to respond to the theme of the site, "LOVE". "UTSUROI" is a Japanese word expressing the changing of the heart, or the gradual transition of state. The relation between the viewer and this structure is always "UTSUROI". At different levels and angles, the ability to see through the structure becomes apparent, and the structure appears before us not as a clear, or unclear structure, but as a semitransparent state. We were able to confirm "the change of scenery cut out by different angles of view" and "transition of space made by projection of changing nature". The influence of the 3.11 earthquake disaster is immeasurable. We attempted to build a structure that was soft, flexible and could ward off the power of nature rather than one typical of the 20th century that was hard and strong. This architecture is made of cardboard. The specific strength of cardboard is especially high and by reducing the empty weight, we minimized the stress put on the structure. We connected the cardboard pieces by running iron bars through their flutes, supplementing their tensile strength. The many pieces of this structure are set at different angles but share a common core, making a structure that looks like a collection of overlapping beams. These common cores ...
