Wellington experienced some wild winds today, with gusts up to 146 kilometres an hour, making it impossible for some Wellingtonians to stay on their feet. Outside Greytown School in the Wairarapa , a tree fell on two people walking on the roadside. Both were injured and taken to Masterton Hospital - one is in a serious condition and the other in a moderate condition. Ferry sailings continued as usual and some flights were delayed and passengers experienced some bumpy approaches to the runway. Police issued a warning to motorists, asking them to take extra care. Election billboards have been the hardest hit, with many being blown down across the city. Story: Police have charged a protester with arson after a car was set on fire and exploded in Wellington's Cuba Mall today. The man, 40, was due to appear in the Wellington District Court on Monday. Police said they would oppose bail. Detective Sergeant Michael Priston said the incident endangered the many people who were walking in the mall. They were taking the man's behaviour "very seriously" and the charge reflected how dangerous the situation was.

Sunday October 17, 2010 at Small's field in York Pa a game that will go into the records as an Instant Classic Football game was played. na close match-up with the Wellington Panthers, BYC losses on a last second play, when #1 Jaden of Wellington made one of the best runs of the season. BYC was out coached this day of both sides of the ball. I waited for this game all season, and it didn't lived up to the Hype It srarted of like any other game, in which we took a 7 - 0 lead. One of the biggest plays happened on a 4th and 1 with BYC driving in Wellington territory. On a QB sneak #3 Trenis appeard to get the first down on a QB sneak, but the Refs call a penalty on one of our runnig backs for HELPING MOVE THE PILE.. This took us to a 4th and 3 after the five yard penalty. On the ensuing play Trenis runs around the end for what appears to be another first down, but the Ref make a bad spit on the ball. and Wellington takes over. Two plays later Wellingtons #1 burst his way towards a 70 something yard TD! The extra point was scored as well, which evens it at 7 apiece. It would stay that way till the third when #1 does it again. Where was Trenis? About 5 Yards behind #1. The kid is fast, and the defense was not prepared. We stopped them from getting the extra point, the score is now 13 - 7. Going into the 4th Quarter, the Red Raiders needed to respond quickly.
