The The Impotence of Proofreading, by TAYLOR MALI

Has this ever happened to you? You work very horde on a paper for English clash And then get a very glow raid (like a D or even a D=) and all because you are the word¹s liverwurst spoiler. Proofreading your peppers is a matter of the the utmost impotence. This is a problem that affects manly, manly students. I myself was such a bed spiller once upon a term that my English teacher in my sophomoric year, Mrs. Myth, said I would never get into a good colleague. And that¹s all I wanted, just to get into a good colleague. Not just anal community colleague, because I wouldn¹t be happy at anal community colleague. I needed a place that would offer me intellectual simulation, I really need to be challenged, challenged dentally. I know this makes me sound like a stereo, but I really wanted to go to an ivory legal collegue. So I needed to improvement or gone would be my dream of going to Harvard, Jail, or Prison (in Prison, New Jersey). So I got myself a spell checker and figured I was on Sleazy Street. But there are several missed aches that a spell chukker can¹t can¹t catch catch. For instant, if you accidentally leave a word your spell exchequer won¹t put it in you. And God for billing purposes only you should have serial problems with Tori Spelling your spell Chekhov might replace a word with one you had absolutely no detention of using. Because what do you want it to douch? It only does what you tell it to douche. You¹re the one with your hand on the mouth going clit, clit ...

A Teacher Appreciation Story that Inspires

Sometimes, it takes a life-changing event to spur people to action. Dr. Lee Buono, a neurosurgeon from Medford, Burlington County, was encouraged by one of his patients to thank Albert Siedlecki, the teacher who inspired him to become a neurosurgeon. In the 1980s, Mr. Siedlecki taught Dr. Buono how to dissect a frogs brain. Nearly 20 years later, Dr. Buono is saving lives. Watch their story. May 3-9, 2009 is Teacher Appreciation Week - a great time to celebrate the achievements of New Jerseys teachers. This week and every week NJEA is working to highlight the stories of teachers and educational support professionals who are making a difference in the lives of students. Watch Classroom Close-up, NJ on NJN or online to hear more stories of educators making a difference.

Learning English - Lesson One (Introduction)

Hi everybody this is Misterduncan in England. How are you today? Are you ok?...I hope so. Are you happy?...I hope so. Welcome to the very first episode of my series of English teaching videos Before I begin we will take alook at some of the common questions that often arise when talking about learning the English language. and more importantly, learning it as a second language. So, the first question must be... "Why do we need to learn English?" Of course one of the reasons why we need to be able to speak English nowadays is because the world is becoming smaller. Thanks to the internet and our developing global economy, more and more people are using English as a common way to communicate with each other. So now it has become unavoidable that companies and large businesses will need to employ people.who can speak more than their own native language, that is where English comes in. It is now officially considered as an international language. Of course learning anything is difficult and English is no exception. However, there are ways to make the situation easier. I have come up with my own list of general rules for learning English Do you want to hear them? Do you want to know what they are? Ok...let's go! Learning English takes time and patience. It cannot be rushed Try to relax and take it easy The most important thing you need at to beginning is a good vocabulary Without words, you have nothing to work with You must start with a strong foundation or base. and slowly ...

Genki Phonics : How to Teach Your Child to Read Using Phonics

Posters are @ www.GenkiPhonics.com By using phonics in schools we've seen kids improve their reading age by as much as two years. As I've had many people, friends and family asking how to teach phonics to their children at home, I made this video where I explain how to do teach your own child to read quickly and easily. It can make a huge difference to your child's reading ability. Personally I'm always amazed by the results! Here I use my own Phonics Posters from http but you can of course use any phonics materials you have. Here's a brief review of the video: Phonics just means saying the sound of the letter, instead of the "A=ay B=bee C=see" name of the letter. 1. Ask what the pictures are on each page. 2. Ask what they think today's new sound is. 3. When they get it right, show them how to write it by drawing on the big letter whilst making the sound. 4. Take turns writing on the big letter in silly voices! 5. Point to the first letter of the reading word, they say the sound. 6. Point to the next letter of the reading word, they say it. 7. Keep getting faster and faster till they can say the word and get the magic "Aha!" feeling as they know what it says! 8. Practice writing today's letter on the sheet. 9. Review all the sounds at the top of the page. Take it in turns pointing and saying the letters. In many countries teachers have forgotten how to use these techniques and if you find your child struggling at school I'd really recommend it. If they are doing other ...

Hot Yoga Teachers Promote Nonsense: Yoga Breathing, O2, CO2

Hot (Bikram) yoga teachers say that yoga breathing needs to be large for health benefits. Hot yoga classes for beginners and poses are taught with practicing more breathing for removal of carbon dioxide and getting more oxygen in body cells. Even though breathing exercise is only a small part of hot yoga, review of ideas of Bikram yoga gurus about better breathing, carbon dioxide effects, and oxygen transport show that they are in contradiction with ancient yoga statements and modern medical research facts. Moreover, correct yoga breathing provides more benefits than postures or poses, and other Bikram yoga workouts or hot yoga challenge. Traditional yoga teach that yoga should have less and "restrained" breathing, "hold" their breath, "calm" their breathing, and so forth. These ideas make sense since they increase body oxygen content. Even when we breathe less than the medical norm (that is only about 500 ml with 12 breaths per minute), we get up to 98-99 percent for oxygenation of the arterial blood, provided that this breathing is regular, abdominal and nasal. There are no benefits in yoga breathing more. Overbreathing or breathing more than the medical standard results in decrease in CO2 levels in the lungs, blood and cells of the human body. That causes decreased blood flow to all vital organs, low body oxygen concentrations, bronchoconstriction, over-excitement of nervous cells, tense states in muscle cells, suppression of the immune system, promotion of chronic ...

Be A Great Teacher

As a criminal lawyer whose specialty was representing kids, Sheila Joseph knew better than anyone just how bad the education system in low-income communities could be. Hearing about New York's Teaching Fellow's program, Sheila decided to take a couple of years off from law and try to make a difference in kids lives before they needed a lawyer. She went to work in East Jamaica, Queens at a school that was about to close. That year an inspiring principal turned it around, requiring students to go to school 12 months a year and raising their test scores as a result. But the next year, under a new principal, the school tumbled back to the lowest-performance in the borough. Through the Fellows Program, she learned about starting a charter school. It was a long and complicated process, but because of her perseverance and commitment, East New York Prep was created. On September 5, 2006, the school opened its doors for the first time to 110 kids who comprise the class of 2014. Their principal, Sheila Joseph, and the dedicated teachers she's recruited, intend to see each one live up to their full potential. Go to www.eastnyprep.org to learn more.

Fire Water Balloon - Cool Science Experiment

Check out this and other cool science experiments at www.stevespanglerscience.com Common sense tells you that it's impossible to boil water in a paper bag, but this classic parlor trick was a favorite of the Victorian magician. The real difficultly in performing this effect is making it look harder than it is! As you might imagine, the secret lies in yet another amazing property of water - it's ability to conduct heat. Instead of using a paper bag, this modern day version of the demonstration uses an ordinary balloon, some water and a candle. It's a combination that's guaranteed to make people stand back. Check out this and other cool Halloween science experiments at www.stevespanglerscience.com Just give the plastic light stick a little "snap" and a shake and the liquid inside begins to glow. Some people call it liquid light. Our experience tells us that with light comes heat... but not this time.
