Roger Whittaker 'Why'

Roger Whittaker's song 'Why' accompanied by my interpretation of the songs lyrics in pics..just to add a little interest, hopefully... Roger Whittaker (born March 22, 1936 in Nairobi, Kenya) is an Anglo Kenyan singer/songwriter and musician with worldwide record sales of more than 55 million. His music can be described as easy listening. He is best known for his baritone singing voice and trademark whistling ability. LYRICS Something is going wrong With the singer and the song And the music isn?t gentle anymore There?sa mist across the moon And the sun?s too hot at noon And the house is dark behind the broken door Where the flowers used to grow With their leaves are hanging low And the constant shadow lies across the floor There?sa strange and empty sky Where the wild birds used to fly And I never tasted bitter rain before And will the grass be gone from underneath the sky Will the golden flower wither soon and die Will the fire burn out the land And the sea fill-up with sand Will the last word ever spoken be why? Will the last word ever spoken be why? Someone?s lost the plan For the brotherhood of man And no one?s trying to find it anymore And the winds become a sigh For those who hate and those who die And the waves are black and slow along the shore And will the grass be gone from underneath the sky Will the golden flower wither soon and die Will the fire burn out the land And the sea fill-up with sand Will the last word ever spoken be why? Roger Whittaker - Streets of London (with lyrics)

Roger Whittaker singing the beautiful song Streets of London. Have you seen the old man In the closed-down market Kicking up the paper, with his worn out shoes? In his eyes you see no pride And held loosely at his side Yesterday's paper telling yesterday's news (Chorus) So how can you tell me you're lonely, And say for you that the sun don't shine? Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London I'll show you something to make you change your mind Have you seen the old girl Who walks the streets of London Dirt in her hair and her clothes in rags? She's no time for talking, She just keeps right on walking Carrying her home in two carrier bags. Chorus In the all night cafe At a quarter past eleven, Same old man is sitting there on his own Looking at the world Over the rim of his tea-cup, Each tea last an hour Then he wanders home alone Chorus And have you seen the old man Outside the seaman's mission Memory fading with The medal ribbons that he wears. In our winter city, The rain cries a little pity For one more forgotten hero And a world that doesn't care Chorus

The Last Farewell ~ Roger Whittaker

There's a ship lies rigged and ready in the harbor Tomorrow for old England she sails Far away from your land of endless sunshine To my land full of rainy skies and gales And I shall be aboard that ship tomorrow Though my heart is full of tears at this farewell For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly More dearly than the spoken word can tell For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly More dearly than the spoken word can tell I've heard there's a wicked war a-blazing And the taste of war I know so very well Even now I see the foreign flag a-raising Their guns on fire as we sail into hell I have no fear of death, it brings no sorrow But how bitter will be this last farewell For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly More dearly than the spoken word can tell For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly More dearly than the spoken word can tell Though death and darkness gather all about me My ship be torn apart upon the seas I shall smell again the fragrance of these islands And the heaving waves that brought me once to thee And should I return home safe again to England I shall watch the English mist roll through the dale For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly More dearly than the spoken word can tell For you are beautiful, I have loved you dearly More dearly than the spoken word can tell

Whittaker's parents, were originally from Staffordshire, England, where they owned and operated a grocery shop. His father had to move his family to Afrika for health reasons. In 1971, Whittaker recorded "The Last Farewell," which would become his biggest hit and a signature song, selling over 11 million copies worldwide. He has developed his own successful career in Germany, singing in their language. Roger Whittaker has also recorded in French and Spanish. For unknown reasons, the original hit recordings of "The Last Farewell" and "Durham Town" are not available on CD anywhere. All current CD releases contain only re-records. ROGER WHITTAKER - "The Last Farewell" & "Paradise" - 45 RPM RCA Record

One of my dad's favorite records. Originally done for YouTube upload on June 16, 2007. Although it was too dark when I used a FujiFilm A345 Finepix (my sister now owns it). Lots of YouTubers were leaving comments (especially on "The Last Farewell", when the sides were uploaded seperately). Redone for Google Upload on August 11, 2007 (now on MySpace). "The Last Farewell": vids.myspace.com "Paradise": vids.myspace.com After my account got suspended, I decided to redo this video of BOTH sides of the record. I thought those of you who like "The Last Farewell" would also like "Paradise". Both songs also from an album, "A Special Kind of Man". Roger Whittaker - Albany 1982

This is Gordon McKenzies song. His song of Albany, the proud castle of his clan Albany, highly in the mountains of Norton Green, Albany, in your walls I was once at home, Albany, castle of my fathers, which I loved, oh, could I only see you once again. Re-up -*Lyrics,lyrics,lyrics...* Deep lyrics for such a short song. Great remake of his original [1970]version -Whistle- Everybody talks about a new world in the morning- New world in the morning so they say... Now i myself don't talk about a new world in the morning- New world in the morning that's today- And i can feel a new tomorrow comin' on - And i don't know why i have to make a song... Now everybody talks about a new world in the morning- New world in the mornin' takes so long... ***I met a man who had a dream he'd had since he was 20. I met that man when he was 81. He said too many folks just stand and wait until the morning- Don't they know tomorrow never comes. And he would feel a new tomorrow comin' on. And when he'd smile his eyes would twinkle up in fun. Now everybody talks about a new world in the morning- New world in the morning takes so long. And i can feel a new tomorrow comin' on- And i don't know why i have to make a song. Now everybody talks about a new world in the morning. New world in the morning takes so long. A lada da dee da da Lada da dee da daaa..... Fades to end.

Lottery Winner "Curse" Jack Whittaker

A man infamous for his numerous problems ever since winning a record Powerball lottery jackpot says he can't pay a settlement to a casino worker because thieves cleaned out his bank accounts. Powerball winner Jack Whittaker gave that explanation in a note last fall to a lawyer for Kitti French, who accused him of assaulting her at the Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center, a slots-only casino near Charleston, according to a motion French's lawyer filed this week demanding payment of the confidential settlement. Whittaker won a nearly $315 million on Christmas 2002, then the largest undivided lottery prize in US history. He took his winnings in a lump sum of $113 million after taxes. Since then, he has faced his granddaughter's death by drug overdose; he has been sued for bouncing checks at Atlantic City, NJ, casinos; he has been ordered to undergo rehab after being arrested on drunken driving charges; his vehicles and business have been burglarized; he was drugged in a Cross Lanes strip club in 2003 by robbers who took more than $500000 from his car; and he has been sued by the father of an 18-year-old boy, a friend of his granddaughter's, who was found dead in Whittaker's house. In the latest lawsuit, Whittaker told French's lawyer, John Barrett, that "a team of crooks" cashed checks in September at 12 City National Bank branches and "got all my money," according to the motion Barrett filed Wednesday in state court. The suit maintains that French's lawyer contacted ...
