Windows 7 Tip - Change the login screen background

I hope you liked this popular tip! Please RATE for more! Cheers all! Video notes: Navigate in the registry to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background Then see if there is a DWORD value called OEMBackground and if so set the Hex value to 1. If you do not have OEMBackground then you need to create a new DWORD value key called OEMBackground first. After you are done navigate to c:\windows\system32\oobe\ and create a info folder and then inside it create a backgrounds folder and put a JPEG file in there that is less than 256KB and call the file name backgroundDefault.jpg , then reboot and your done!

Installing Windows 7

anthonyblando.com Installing Microsoft Windows 7 RC First of all the why would you want to do this? There are a couple reasons. 1.Hardware and software are becoming more sophisticated so in order to stay in front of the curve you should know what technologies are available. 2.Increase productivity - people often forget that increasing production is the main reason that they invest in technology to begin with. 3.Its Free for 13 months. (I like free). 4.Vista is an abomination. Well maybe it's not that bad but certainly 7 is a lot faster and a lot better. 5.You can always go back to XP or Vista if it does not work for you. Very little risk. Create Bootable USB Flash Drive for Windows 7 or Vista Netbook Install

** Please note that you CAN use NTFS when formatting the drive. You can substitute "fs=fat32" for "fs=ntfs" if you would like *Please make sure that you go into your netbook's BIOS and set the USB thumbdrive as the first bootable device. This way when you're done with this process, just keep it plugged in and reboot and setup should start* This quick video is to demonstrate how one would take the Windows 7 DVD image (ISO) and copy the setup files so that one can install Windows 7 via a USB flash drive. I used this process to install Win 7 on my new Acer Aspire One Netbook. All hardware was detected flawlessly BTW. Very quick. Very pleased.

Windows 7 Clean install with Upgrade disk

Ok, i did a bit of research and found a way to use a Windows 7 upgrade CD key on a clean install. Best part? I called Microsoft tech and asked them if this was legal and they said YES! Apparently it could not record the desktop when the user account control window came up. Just click yes. In case you missed it the path in the Regedit window was the following: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\OOBE The command in the command prompt was slmgr.vbs -rearm AGAIN! IF YOU SCREW UP YOUR COMPUTER IN THE REGISTRY I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE! DO NOT WHINE AT ME IF YOU CANT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS! PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. It worked for me. There is no guarantee that it will work for you. I have not seen it fail yet... but if you dont follow instructions exactly then it definitely wont. Here is a link to the screenshot for the command successful message for the REARM. pantless-gaming.com

Video and walk through guide to help you reset your Windows 7 password. If you have been using a computer for any amount of time you have no doubt forgotten a Windows 7 password or two and have had to have it reset or recovered from you administrator at the office. With the increase of security on home computers Windows 7 now by default requires you to have a Windows password for the administrator account. If you forget or lose this at home there is no help desk to call unless you have a relative that does computer work, which is what most of my "extended family" does when something happens. In this case you are on you own, unless you want to pay a premium price to one of the "geek squad" out there to take care of it for you. Instead of bothering your second cousin on your sister in laws side of the family or paying out the nose from some "expert" that couldn't work anywhere but a big box store for technology, I will walk you through how to reset your Windows 7 password for free.

How to Install Windows 7 on MacBook Pro [the proper way]

Rest in peace, Steve Jobs. Thank you for changing our technology, our culture, and the world for the better. www.youtube.com This video will teach Mac users how to install Windows 7 using the BootCamp app. Please follow the steps carefully, as many users run into problem by installing as if it was a normal PC installation. There are several important steps that are intrinsic to BootCamp, that otherwise would not be done on a Windows installation on a PC. You'll be required to have these ready: Mac system plugged to a power source, Windows 7 installation disc, Mac OSX installation disc, internet connection, and at least an hour of free time. I redacted a lot of the loading times and system reboots from the video to keep it as short as it can be without feeling rushed. I hope this will help a lot of Mac users. I personally do not have a preference between the two operating systems; I like both. Having both OSes on a sleek, sexy system is a win-win situation for me, any day. Windows 7 Upgrade or Anytime Upgrade?

What's the difference between a Windows 7 upgrade and an Anytime Upgrade? A Windows 7 upgrade is an upgrade from an older version of Windows, like Windows Vista or Windows XP. The anytime upgrade is an upgrade from one version of Windows 7 to another version of Windows 7. For example, you can use Anytime Upgrade to go from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. You can see which version of Windows 7 you are running by clicking the Start button, then right-clicking on Comptuer and choosing Properties from the right-click menu or by pressing the Windows key and the Pause key at the same time.
