We awoke at 2 am on December 1, 2011 to pounding winds. It felt like a train was going through our house. All night our windows rattled as we could hear stuff from the neighborhood being thrown into our house. It was still dark when I went out at 5 to our back yard to clean up chairs, garbage and garbage cans, pieces of our barbecue grill and playground swings and equipment. I got hit in the head with a flying shingle. I noticed that our 2-car garage door was buckled in, resting against my truck. The wind bent the door in half. Our vinyl fence gate was blown open with the metal pieces all over and the vinyl fence posts broken into pieces. As I drove around the neighborhood around 9:30 I noticed nearly half of the fences were are on the ground. There are shingles everywhere, like giant flecks of pepper on grass. We have no power. I've heard the media report our area is receiving 106 mph winds - hurricane force winds. I've been through a hurricane and tornado and this feels a lot like that, only this is much more prolonged. The storm winds blew from 2 until nearly 11 am

Took some footage down in my neighborhood in Pasadena after the November 30th-December 1st Santa Ana winds blew through at speeds hitting over 90mph. Pasadena seems to bethe epicenter of the storm. It's been declared in a state of emergency. And there's more coming...! That last clip was indeed a license plate of a car under the tree. I talked to the guy who owned the car, and he was quite philosophical about it; he said, at least he wasn't in it! :)
This was just a taste of the bad storm we got while I was in New Brunswick. Our electricity was cut for 5 hours. Pain.

November 28, 2011 , Winds blasted Claresholm With Hurricane-Strength winds. Violent Winds tore across Alberta and parts of western Saskatchewan on Sunday, With gusts reaching HURRICANE-STRENGTH. It resulted to up rooted trees, Debris flying through the air and significant property damage. In Southern Alberta winds ripped through Calgary with winds recorded to being 91 km/h, Black Diamond had gusts of 122 km/h. Claresholm had a peak wind gust of 144 km/h. A 120 km/h wind gust is the equivalent of a Category One hurricane. "Put as many walls between you and the storm as possible. Seek shelter. Watch out for flying debris. Stay away from downed powerlines and trees that may fall," said a public advisory on the Alberta Emergency Alert website. I short Shot in a lull of the storm that lasted over 8 hours with incredible North Winds at a slightly higher Altitude than the ground, that were massive and sustained for hours. It was cold surrounded by bands of hot clouds in the Mts, I kept looking for a front but it was so clear directly above it was like i was in the eye of the storm or something, it felt so strange, survived damage not too bad considering, if those upper N winds had come down... even a bit more.. woooeee... Ive updated this story, this video was shot after the event, 30 min later, does not do justice to what happened momemts before, It was incredible, I know believe we had a spawing of very bizarre cold micro-tornados that hit Central Park in Pasadena, and left a swatch of damage goind from from NW to SE. I saw the path today at central park, taking pictures and noticed the TOPS were twisted, its pretty obvious the trees are TWISTED at the top, and the path is visible, to me??? I followed it facing SE which put it directly over my place and I think directly over my head no kidding, I heard something very wild that night before going out! woool...It took out the walls above our carport almost killed me, when I left my unit, The winds MOVED from N to UPWARD swirling MOTION all around, me was so cold it started shaking me, I was on phone with neigher first time but battery died or you would have seen almost imeediately after, whatever it was lifted a IRON spark guaurd off the chimney top, Ripped apart <b>...</b>

While on vacation in Traverse City, MI we were hit by a storm and although we were spared the full force of the wind at our cottage on Grand Traverse bay, while traveling back home we stopped by a beach at Pier Port, just north of Manistee, to get the full effect of the wind. The wind whipping across Lake Michigan also created massive waves. The National Weather Service recorded a 21.7-foot wave Tuesday in the middle of the lake at a buoy east of Washington Island, weather service meteorologist JJ Wood said. The buoy recorded a 20-foot wave early Wednesday. The storm forced the Lake Express ferry to cancel its twice-daily trips Tuesday and Wednesday.
