Benedicto Martinez at the Railroad Workers United Convention 2012

Benedicto Martinez Orozco is a nationally elected co-president of the Frente Auténtico del Trabajo (FAT). One of the only independent labor federations in Mexico, the FAT is composed of labor unions, worker owned cooperatives, and farmworker and community organizations. In addition, a national women's network which coordinates work on gender and equity is represented as part of the FAT's leadership body and operates within all of its sectors and zones. Prior to holding office, Mr. Martinez worked for many years as a machine operator at a US based transnational, Sealed Power. While working there, he was elected General Secretary of the Metal Workers Union, STIMAHCS, a national union affiliated with the FAT. He has continued to serve as General Secretary of STIMAHCS, but has been on leave from his plant since 1991 when he became one of the top elected national officers of the FAT. He has also been repeatedly elected Vice-President of the National Union of Workers, the independent Mexican Labor Federation founded in 1997, a recognition of the role the FAT has played in its formation and in defining and developing its program of work and action. The FAT was founded in 1960 and now represents workers in over half the states of Mexico. It represents workers in industries such as textiles, auto-parts, and transportation in national unions, and represents many others on a local level, including service workers in Mexico City. Occupy the SEC: Former Wall Street Workers Defend Volcker Rule Against Banks' Anti-Regulatory Push

democracynow.org - The latest off-shoot of the Occupy Wall Street movement — Occupy the SEC — has submitted a 325-page comment to the Securities and Exchange Commission that calls on regulators to resist the financial industry's lobbying efforts to water down the Volcker Rule, a section in the Dodd--Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, that aims to prevent large banks from making certain kinds of risky, speculative investments. The group is made up of former Wall Street professionals who once worked at many of the largest financial firms in the industry. We're joined by Alexis Goldstein, who worked as a computer programmer for seven years at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank. She left Wall Street in 2010 and joined the Occupy Wall Street soon after the encampment began. "Banks should not behave like a hedge fund," Goldstein says. "Hedge funds are there to make money and take risky bets and their clients tend to be these really wealthy clients. And the Volcker Rule says: well wait a minute, these big banks that enjoy this government support shouldn't be in that business." Monsanto 'Poisoned Workers' Causing Devastating Birth Defects

Anthony Gucciardi www.infowars.com www.prisonplanet.tv twitter.com www.facebook.com April 11, 2012 In a developing news piece just unleashed by a courthouse news wire, Monsanto is being brought to court by dozens of Argentinean tobacco farmers who say that the biotech giant knowingly poisoned them with herbicides and pesticides and subsequently caused "devastating birth defects" in their children. The farmers are now suing not only Monsanto on behalf of their children, but many big tobacco giants as well. The birth defects that the farmers say occurred as a result are many, and include cerebral palsy, down syndrome, psychomotor retardation, missing fingers, and blindness. The farmers come from small family-owned farms in Misiones Province and sell their tobacco to many United States distributors. The family farmers say that major tobacco companies like the Philip Morris company asked them to use Monsanto's herbicides and pesticides, assuring them that the products were safe. Through asserting that the toxic chemicals were safe, the farmers state in their claim that the tobacco companies "wrongfully caused the parental and infant plaintiffs to be exposed to those chemicals and substances which they both knew, or should have known, would cause the infant offspring of the parental plaintiffs to be born with devastating birth defects." The majority of the farmers in the area used Monsanto's Roundup, an herbicide with the active ingredient glyphosate that has shown to be ...

One World Trade Center becomes the tallest building in New York

timesofearth.com NEW YORK - Construction workers carefully placed a steal beam on top of the new World Trade Center Monday, making it New York City's tallest building. One World Trade Center stands 381 meters above the streets of downtown Manhattan, surpassing the iconic Empire State Building. When completed, the new building will be 104 stories high and 541 meters tall, which is 1776 feet — a height chosen to symbolize freedom. 1776 was the year the United States declared independence from Britain. One World Trade Center, often called Freedom Tower, is being built at the site of the twin towers of the original World Trade Center, destroyed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Ron Paul is A Gateway into Liberty: Infowars Nightly News

The Ron Paul campaign continues to gain steam, increasingly emerging as an undeniable contender for the GOP nomination. In South Carolina, considered too socially conservative for Paul to contest, he is rising in polls, now surging past Rick Santorum into the top tier and approaching Romney and Gingrich with the primary just around the corner. On the economic front, France and eight other EU nations were hit with an S&P downgrade today, and others are expected to follow, according to reports. Meanwhile, 'loan sharking' firms are targeting students with an "alternative" to traditional student loans, under terms that offer an outrageous 4000% interest rate. Factory workers in China are again threatening mass suicide over inadequate pay and a failure to honor severance terms for workers who've refused to meet the harsh demands at an XBox 360 production facility that has already seen many suicides from its workers. All signs continue to point towards a disastrous war with Iran. A former Israeli official has warned that a "Pearl Harbor" style attack may be used to create a pretext for war with Iran, while Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin has issued statements that he is 'confident' that Israel will push the United States into that looming conflict. Yet, outrage in the media is not aimed at another contrived build-up to unnecessary and costly war, but over Marines who filmed themselves desecrating three Afghan corpses. 以下影片原文我翻出來可能有點翻錯不要見怪Citizens of the United States, We are Anonymous. This is an urgent emergency alert to all people of the United States. The day we've all been waiting for has unfortunately arrived. The United States is censoring the internet. Our blatant response is that we will not sit while our rights are taken away by the government we trusted them to preserve. This is not a call to arms, but a call to recognition and action! The United States government has mastered this corrupt way of giving us a false sense of freedom. We think we are free and can do what we want, but in reality we are very limited and restricted as to what we can do, how we can think, and even how our education is obtained. We have been so distracted by this mirage of freedom, that we have just become what we were trying to escape from. For too long, we have been idle as our brothers and sisters were arrested. During this time, the government has been scheming, plotting ways to increase censorship through means of ISP block aides, DNS blockings, search engine censorship, website censorship, and a variety of other methods that directly oppose the values and ideas of both Anonymous as well as the founding fathers of this country, who believed in free speech and press! The United States has often been used as an example of the ideal free country. When the one nation that is known for its freedom and rights start to abuse its own people, this is when you must fight back, because ...

LIGHT WORKERS AWAKENING

Everyone is a Lightworker whether they know it at all. Just as truth is truth whether anyone knows it or not. The real question arises then, "Am I aware of who I am?" Behind all labels, behind all self created illusions of mind and ego, or social dogmas and masks, there lies the truth, the answer to that question. Just as the Sun shines bright both day and night, it is only the movement of the planet and clouds that obscure it from view. But the sun is always shining. A Lightworker is awake to this truth, aware of their true presence and living in accordance with the divine plan. All beings that exist are a channel between eternal, formless heaven and the temporary world of form and illusion, earth. Why am I here? One does not always need to consciously realize the answer to this question, but living your life purpose is achievable in every moment, right now. Sit in peaceful contemplation, in pure awareness. Allow yourself to be present in every moment and feel within the depths of your heart for your inner truth, your guidance. The work is easy and the burden is light. Your true essence of being is so vast, it is beyond any concept, any word, thought or form. A Lightworker then is any being, who is aware of their true non-dual nature, their eternal "I Am" Presence and acting in accordance with it. A Lightworker is active in enlightenment, or in cultivating enlightenment.

Shock Doctrine at US Postal Service: Is A Manufactured Crisis Behind Push to Privatize?

www. DemocracyNow.org - Today, postal workers and their supporters are holding events across the country to press their demand for repealing the benefit-funding mandate, and push back against calls for their workplace to be privatized. For months, Americans have heard dire warnings about the impending collapse of the United States Postal Service due to fiscal insolvency and a drop in the use of mail service. In early September, the US Postmaster General told Congress that the USPS is close to default and unveiled a series of radical proposals to cut costs by firing up to 120000 workers, closing several thousand facilities, scaling back deliveries, and reducing benefits for retirees. But many postal workers say the much-touted crisis facing the US Postal Service is not what it seems. They argue the greatest volume of mail handled in the 236-year history of the postal service was 2006. They also point to a 2006 law that forced the USPS to become the only agency required to fund 75 years of retiree health benefits over just a 10-year span, and say the law's requirements account for 100 percent of the service's $20 billion in losses over the previous four years, without which the service would have turned a profit. Last week, Republicans introduced legislation to overhaul the USPS in response to a bill proposed by Democrats that would refund a reported $6.9 billion in over-payments to the USPS retirement plan, offer early retirement and voluntary separation incentives, adjust ...
