World War 2 Video Sad

Music listed below. Focus only on the video and nothing else for maximum effect. Just a little montage I put together. It chronicles the Allied/Axis conflict in Europe. This video has drawn alot of political/morale debate. Please remember, everyone has their opinions, please be respectful of that. Also, a lot of people ask where I got the clips from, I simply got them off of the youtube site. I am in no way taking credit for any of the footage, I simply put the pieces together. I recommend to you to go out and find these clips and watch them. I simply made this video as a tribute for the sake of war. I wanted to create a piece of art, nothing more, nothing less. Music is "Hear Our Prayer" by Yuki Kajiura Kajiura is simply one of the best OST Artists ever. Doing the soundtracks for such titles as Noir, El Cazador De La Bruja, and Tsubasa Chronicle. Very good instrumental work, and the music goes perfectly with the pictures in this video.

Here Is Germany: World War 2 Propaganda Documentary Film Directed by Frank Capra (1945)

DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org Here is Germany was a 1945 propaganda documentary film directed by Frank Capra. Like its companion film, Know Your Enemy: Japan, the film is a full-length exploration of why one of the two major Axis countries started World War II and what had to be done to keep them from "doing it again". The film opens with scenes of everyday life in Germany, described by narrator Walter Huston. It shows people such as housewives, mailmen, farmers and policemen at work, and notes that these people were not so different than us, and seem like people Americans can understand. Anthony Veiller then interrupts with "Or can we?", as the film then switches to a montage of Nazi concentration camps and piles of dead bodies. The narrator notes that this is not the only time that Germany has unleashed war on the world, stating that while its generation fought the "Nazis", its fathers fought the "Huns" (pejorative term for Germany during World War I), and its grand father remembers the "Prussians". The narrator claims that its was all part of the same German lust for conquest. Going even further back 150 years, the film informs us that while America, Britain, and France were forming their democratic traditions, Germany was a group of 300 medieval feudal states, not one of them with a constitution or parliament. The film traces the rise of Prussia from Frederick the Great through Bismarck, telling the audience that the Prussian state was dominated first by <b>...</b>

World War II with Walter Cronkite - The Seeds of War - Part 1/11

Episode 1: "From Kaiser to Fuhrer", first part This is a really epic documentary series released in 1983 by Cronkite's Broadcast Studio (you know which one). This particular episode deals with the fundamental causes that led to the rise of the Nazi party in Weimar Germany in the run up to World War 2. The audio gets off a little bit towards the end of the video, but it's only noticeable when Mr. Cronkite is talking. I fixed it for subsequent parts. My collection of this series is all on Beta tapes apparently once purchased by my parents. The tapes are not numbered in any way, and the episodes deal with individual topics rather than going in chronological order, so I'll do my best to upload them in some sort of sensible sequence. It may, however, take quite some time to upload them all.

World War II America (Battle Hymn of the Republic)

The Hymn has been sung at the funerals of such people as; the British hero Winston Churchill, Robert F Kennedy and Reagen to name a few. It was written amid the chaos of the American Civil War, and since it's conception has been an important part of our country's soul. When sung beautifully, it often brings tears to the eyes of real Americans.

The True Glory: American-British World War II Documentary Film (1945)

DVD: www.amazon.com WWII films: thefilmarchived.blogspot.com The True Glory was a 1945 co-production of the US Office of War Information and the British Ministry of Information, documenting the victory on the Western Front, from Normandy to the collapse of the Third Reich. Although many individuals contributed to the film, British director Carol Reed is normally credited as the director. The film was promoted with the tagline, "The story of your victory...told by the guys who won it!" The documentary is notable for using multiple first person perspectives as narrative voices, somewhat in the manner of Tunisian Victory, except this time, instead of just an American GI and a British Tommie, the voices include a Canadian, a French resister, a Parisan civilian family, an African-American tank gunner, and several female perspectives including a nurse, and clerical staff. The film is introduced by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe, and many other prominent individuals appear in it including General George S. Patton. Sir Carol Reed (30 December 1906 -- 25 April 1976) was an English film director, most famous for directing The Third Man, Odd Man Out and The Fallen Idol. He won the Palme d'Or in 1949 for The Third Man and the 1968 Academy Award for Best Director for Oliver!. He embarked on an acting career while still in his teens, but soon went into the role of producer/director, and was responsible for The Stars Look Down (1939), Kipps <b>...</b>

(1/5) Dangerous Missions - Taranto - World War II

In 1940, British forces began battling the Italians in North Africa. While the Italians were easily able to supply their troops, the logistical situation for the British proved more difficult as their ships had to traverse almost the entire Mediterranean. Early in the campaign, the British were able to control the sea lanes, however by mid-1940 the tables were beginning to turn, with the Italians outnumbering them in every class of ship except aircraft carriers. Though they possessed superior strength, the Italians were unwilling to fight, preferring to follow a strategy of preserving a "fleet in being." Concerned that Italian naval strength be reduced before the Germans could aid their ally, Prime Minister Winston Churchill issued orders that action be taken on the issue. Planning for this type of eventuality had begun as early as 1938, during the Munich Crisis, when Royal Navy leaders first conceived an operation calling for an aerial attack on the Italian fleet base at Taranto. This plan was reactivated in September 1940, when its principal author, Rear Admiral Lumley Lyster, joined Admiral Sir Andrew Cunningham's Mediterranean fleet with the new carrier HMS Illustrious. Codenamed Operation Judgment, Cunningham and Lyster planned to attack Taranto on October 21, Trafalgar Day, with aircraft from HMS Illustrious and HMS Eagle. This was later changed following fire damage to Illustrious and action damage to Eagle. While Eagle was being repaired, it was decided to press <b>...</b>

Target for Today

The War Department First Motion Picture Unit Army Air Forces Target for Today AVA11757VNB1 - 1944 - TF I-3384 Official Training Film From The Wikipedia Entry: Target for Today is a 1944 documentary film billed as being filmed by and acted by the United States Army Air Force, all while under fire. It was directed by William Keighley. The film documents the October raids made by the Eighth Air Force on targets in Anklam, Marienburg and Gdynia in Poland, all industrial centers for the Nazi war machine. The raids were made by B-17 and B-24 heavy bombers. General Hap Arnold called the series of attacks "the greatest strike ever". According to Arnold, they helped cripple German aircraft production and signaled the beginning of the end for the Luftwaffe. The documentary documents these three air raids from planning, to briefing, preparation, and then reveals in unparalleled sequences the brutal battles waged at 30000 feet.

DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchived.blogspot.com The second Schweinfurt raid bombed World War II ball bearing factories to reduce production of these vital parts for all manner of war machines. Named Black Thursday because the loss of aircrewmen was the highest for any USAAF mission. The American Official History of the Army Air Forces in the Second World War acknowledged losses had been so heavy that the USAAF would not return to the target for four months; "The fact was that the Eighth Air Force had for the time being lost air superiority over Germany." The film Twelve O'Clock High (1949) dramatized a similar, but fictitious, air raid. The Schweinfurt--Regensburg mission was an air combat battle in World War II. A strategic bombing attack flown by B-17 Flying Fortresses of the US Army Air Forces on August 17, 1943, it was conceived as an ambitious plan to cripple the German aircraft industry. The mission was also known as the "double-strike mission" because it entailed two large forces of bombers attacking separate targets in order to disperse fighter reaction by the Luftwaffe, and was the first "shuttle" mission, in which all or part of a mission landed at a different field and later bombed another target returning to its base. After being postponed several times by unfavorable weather, the operation, known within the Eighth Air Force as "Mission No. 84", was flown on the anniversary of the first daylight raid by the Eighth Air Force. Besa: Muslims Who Saved Jews in World War II

Norman Gershman has become accustomed to the reactions from people who see his photos and read his stories about Muslims sheltering Jews and saving their lives during the Holocaust. "I had people say 'Muslims save Jews! How is that?'" the American Jewish fine art photographer told IslamOnline.net in a telephone interview. Gershman has been engaged in a 5-year project that honors stories of Albanian Muslims' heroism in saving thousands of Jews, who either lived in Albania or sought refugee there, during World War II. The "BESA a code of honor" project began when he was seeking out photographs of righteous, non-Jews who helped Jews during the Holocaust, in New York. Gershman was amazed to find among them Muslim names that he was told belongs to Albanians. Was it the ancient guest code of Besa or the writings of the Koran that led them to literally put their lives above a stranger in need? Gershman and award-winning filmmaker Jason Williams present Gershmans astounding photographs and a sneak preview of the upcomng film God's House. Special guests will share remarkable insights and discuss this nearly forgotten story which will renew your faith in mankind's ability to do the right thing, and hopefully inspire others to look for the goodness in every human being.. Subscribe to Excellent World War II Videos At six miles wide, Omaha was the largest of the landing areas, with the toughest defense. The water and beach were littered with mines and the entire beach being overlooked by 30-metre cliffs. The experienced 352nd German Infantry Division had the beach covered. The 1st Infantry assault experienced the worst ordeal of the D-Day operation. All but two out of 29 amphibious tanks sank and almost all the senior officers were killed or wounded as they set foot on the beach. Despite a 50% casualty rate, the survivors regrouped and pressed on. Aided by heavy naval bombardment, the infantry crossed the beach and began scaling the cliffs. Paratroops closed in on the German defense from behind, enabling the beach exits to be secured by midday. The Americans suffered 2400 casualties at Omaha on June 6th, but 34000 Allied troops had landed by nightfall.

Secrets of World War II -- What Really Happened to Rommel

Secrets of World War II -- What Really Happened to Rommel This film chronicles the career of Germany's most brilliant World War II tactician. Field Marshall Erwin Rommel (1891-1944) was nicknamed the "Desert Fox" for his brilliant leadership of German troops in North Africa. He had an unbroken string of victories until defeated by General Montgomery's much larger forces in Egypt. This documentary contains film clips of the famed "Ghost Division" and rare footage of Rommel's state funeral. The question of Rommel's fate is addressed: was he murdered, or did he commit suicide? It is known that he became convinced that Germany would lose the war and that Hitler should relinquish power. Rommel's involvement in the plot to oust Hitler is examined, along with the intrigue surrounding Rommel's death. See my account for more documentaries about the Second World War.
