Below is an excerpt from a Square Enix fact sheet about Final Fantasy XIV. Enjoy! FINAL FANTASY XIV marks the latest installment to the FINAL FANTASY series, and brings with it unprecedented levels of player choice and freedoms. FINAL FANTASY XIV introduces adventurers to the Armoury system, which influences character development as well as their individual gameplay experience. After choosing a path on which to embark, be it the Discipline of War, Discipline of Magic, Discipline of the Land or Discipline of the Hand, players may then select any of various classes, and need do no more than simply equip the proper weapon or tool to instantly change their active skills. In their travels, players will come upon massive, crystalline formations known as aetheryte -- dense concentrations of Hydaelyn's aether that allow for teleportation throughout Eorzea. By using small, rectangular plates called guildleves, the powers of aetheryte can be unlocked, granting players to ability to travel instantaneously from location to location. A wide variety of guildleves provide levequests tailored for individuals as well as large parties, with the end result being near endless opportunities for exploration and adventure for years to come. In this episode we stay in the beautiful lush lands of Gridania as we take a look at some of our Gathering professions. We head straight to the Adventurer's Guild where we pick up some Fieldcraft Leves, specifically Botany and Mining ones, and then run through the forest as we make our way to Camp Bentbranch to the South. We initiate a Leve called 'Logging Bentbranch' which sees us having to search for three logging points, and has us refreshing our memory about how to log trees as a Botanist.. We begin by taking a look at how to equip new skills, before picking up our very first Levequest from the Aetheryte crystal in Camp Black Brush. In this episode we begin at the beautiful Aetheryte Plaza in the heart of Gridania as we begin our mission to find ourselves a secondary Botanist tool in order to explore the herb-gathering activities within the game. we decide to head towards the Botanist's Guild named 'Greatloam Growery', where we eventually find what we're looking for at a bargain price, and so we head out into the lush rainforest wilderness to try out our new Scythe. Once we've found a suitable harvesting spot, we test our reaping abilities by utilizing this new tool and discovering exactly how the skill of Harvestng works, and what it yeilds.. In this episode we begin inside our Inn Room, where we now gather rested experience, as we do a quick check of our stat points and gear, before teleporting to Uldah to pick up some Level 20 Battlecraft Levequests. Once we arrive in Camp Horizon we discover on of the leves (named 'Threading The Needles') involves battling one of the most iconic Final Fantasy mobs in the game - the famous Cactuar. In this episode we begin in the grand city of Ul'dah as we meet up with one of our viewers named 'Jinrya Geki', before teleporting to Limsa Lominsa so we can take a look at the process involved with being able to acquire a room at an Inn to rest when logging out. Once we've completed our task, we teleport to Camp Horizon in the Thanalan Desert to take on a slightly tougher Levequest than we attempted last week. Part 15 of my 'Let's Play' gameplay and commentary in the MMO, Final Fantasy XIV, by Square Enix. In this episode we take an indepth look at the very latest update to the game: Patch 1.18. We begin by looking at the changes to the configuration menu, including a whole bunch of UI changes and new options, before heading out into the wilds of Thanalan to test out the new combat changes including the new 'auto attack' and 'emnity' features. Part 6 of my 'Let's Play' gameplay and commentary in the MMO, Final Fantasy XIV, by Square Enix. In this episode we leave Lina Cin (Paulina) for a spell while we concentrate on our Single Player storyline. We start by taking a quick look at how to change jobs (classes or professions), using Botanist as an example, before speaking to one of our questgivers. After we catch up on the story we're asked to mimic some expressions by F'lhaminn so that we can calm some troublesome miners who are causing a fuss. Part 7 of my 'Let's Play' gameplay and commentary in the MMO, Final Fantasy XIV, by Square Enix. In this episode we continue along our single-player storyline, firstly meeting up with F'lhaminn at the gates of Ul'dah to escort her to Camp Black Brush. We make swift work of the chinchillas that try to interrupt our journey, only to come across an unfortunate situation at the camp that has us observing some of the fallout from the incident that occured at the Ul'dah parade. We then head back to the city only to discover that a disaster has occured at the local mines, and that somehow it seems tied in with the child from the camp and her father..
