The ADVAN Neova AD08 bridges the gap between street tyres and race tyres. Street tyres work well when cold. Conventional rubber compounds reach their limit during high speed driving as heat softening quickly saps the tyres ability to grip the road. Using street tyres on the track can lead to slower lap times and rapid tread wear. Race tyres work well when hot. R-spec race tyres and slicks, on the other hand, generate heat which helps them grip the race track. They work best above 60 degrees Celsius. Race tyres work best in the first heat cycles, then performance begins to drop off. Using race tyres on the street is uneconomical as it can waste heat cycles and reduce tyre performance. Fatboy Slim at MySpace: www.myspace.com ----- Norman Quentin Cook (born Quentin Leo Cook, 16 July 1963), better known by his stage name Fatboy Slim is a British DJ, big beat musician, producer and pioneer of the electronic dance genre which achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s. Cook has achieved considerable success in the UK charts, performing as Fatboy Slim and with The Housemartins, Beats International and Freak Power. He currently performs as the Brighton Port Authority. Quentin Leo Cook was raised in Reigate, Surrey, England, and was educated at Reigate Grammar School. Best friends with Harry Dent who is also a Dubstep DJ. He started a punk fanzine titled Peroxide with his neighbour Andrew Thomas and art student Ian McKay (formerly Laidlaw). Contemporary with his publishing activities, he played drums in Disque Attack (a British new-wave-influenced rock band) for which he later performed lead vocals. At Reigate College he also met Paul Heaton and, at 18, he went to the Brighton Polytechnic to study a BA in English, Politics and Sociology.
