BYC vs Wellington "Youth Football Classic" York, Pa 8 & 9 Year Old 10/17/2010
Sunday October 17, 2010 at Small's field in York Pa a game that will go into the records as an Instant Classic Football game was played.. na close match-up with the Wellington Panthers, BYC losses on a last second play, when #1 Jaden of Wellington made one of the best runs of the season. BYC was out coached this day of both sides of the ball. I waited for this game all season, and it didn't lived up to the Hype It srarted of like any other game, in which we took a 7 - 0 lead. One of the biggest plays happened on a 4th and 1 with BYC driving in Wellington territory. On a QB sneak #3 Trenis appeard to get the first down on a QB sneak, but the Refs call a penalty on one of our runnig backs for HELPING MOVE THE PILE.. This took us to a 4th and 3 after the five yard penalty. On the ensuing play Trenis runs around the end for what appears to be another first down, but the Ref make a bad spit on the ball. and Wellington takes over. Two plays later Wellingtons #1 burst his way towards a 70 something yard TD! The extra point was scored as well, which evens it at 7 apiece. It would stay that way till the third when #1 does it again. Where was Trenis? About 5 Yards behind #1. The kid is fast, and the defense was not prepared. We stopped them from getting the extra point, the score is now 13 - 7. Going into the 4th Quarter, the Red Raiders needed to respond quickly. This game had me on the edge of my seat, after a couple bone headed plays, the 4th quarter started on like a 3rd and 15 <b>...</b>

LB Shed Drill - Youth Football

Part 1 of the progression has players start by walking the drill. they take their LB stance and shed two blocks and then scrape into the hole and wrap a walking or jogging RB. The 2nd progression has only 1 blocker and live runner similar to the Oklahoma but the blocker does not move to allow younger LBs to learn how to scrape and fill. Despite the walk through and technique training you can still see player struggle to get their head across on the tackle and some of the newer players are still not 100% into contact at this point in training camp.
